The part of the weight loss journey that seems like it’s a given but really isn’t talked about too much (or maybe it is & I’ve just been oblivious) is when you finally do hit your goal. You start living the life you’ve talked about and dreamt about for however long you’ve been on your journey. There’s kind of a feeling of “okay, what now???” You feel lost without this purpose that has been your entire existence for so long. There’s two things you can do. 1. You can slip back into old habits, gain back some pounds or all the pounds, go back to the same mindset you had before. Or 2. You can use your weight loss journey as a stepping stone on your path to total self love/happiness in every aspect of your life. I lost 70 lbs. I don’t care to weigh myself now. I just want to be a healthy, happy, human being. I’ve started reading motivational books, I am looking up yoga retreats I can explore, I’ve started wearing lipstick, I finally got my nose pierced, I found myself again after I lost myself in motherhood, I’ve started accepting more invites and following through with plans, I am living in the moment with my beautiful daughter rather than in the future with anxiety. Life is so good.
I don't wear dresses. I think they're pretty, but I don't feel comfortable wearing them. Especially short dresses that show off my ugly fat legs. But I need to stop thinking that I'm ugly, because I'm not. I am beautiful! This is my Easter dress this year. I'll be performing in front of a bunch of people. I have not worn this dress in 4 years (I'm actually surprised it still fits). Yes I'm worried what people will think of me. But as long as I show confidence and love myself, my inner beauty will outshine my outer beauty. 💖
