Today I'm excited to share my newest novel, The Weight of Normal.
This book represents a turning point for me as a writer.
For years I've written stories about weight gain, but this time I wanted to tell a different kind of story. Instead of building the novel around explicit scenes, I wanted to explore something quieter: how two people slowly create a life together through hundreds of ordinary choices.
Good meals become traditions.
Comfort becomes a priority.
Clothes gradually stop fitting.
A house becomes a home.
And somewhere along the way, they realize they're happier than they ever expected.
The weight gain is still there. It's central to the story. But it's part of a much larger journey about love, acceptance, and discovering the life you truly want.
I think this is the most mature novel I've written, and I'm incredibly proud of it.
If you've followed my work before, thank you for coming along on this journey with me.
If you're discovering my writing for the first time...
I honestly think this is the best place to begin.
