✨Rise to ride✨ . I have used this phrase and hashtag for awhile now on social media, but never explained what it means to me, and how this phrase has evolved in my life. . Riding, and general movement, has always been the backbone of my everyday, no matter my academics or career. . Growing up, it was figure skating, sometimes up to 6 hours a day during the summer, paired with off-ice classes and private coaching. I added in running, hiking, riding my bike to school, rollerblading, kayaking, and every other possible form of movement. If it rained, I read books, lots of them. 📚 Just today, on the road with my colleague, I reminisced about how young students would come running from their huts to join me on dusty runs in Ghana after school let out. 🏃♀️ I still remember the little girl in her pink lace dress and bare feet with the biggest smile joining the run. 😀 What a feeling! . Lately, my priorities have shifted, since making a significant career move. I still rise to ride, but I have even bigger goals these days. Riding is still my daily centering. . Thank you to @allymisslove for your inspiration around being the boss of your body, dreams, goals, and still dancing through the day! 💃🏼 Struck a little pose after this morning’s ride for you. Thanks for the shoutout! ☺️ . . . . #bossoctober #onepeloton #allymisslove #bossup #risetoride #risetostrive #portlandmaine #thisismaine #liveworkmaine #radiatelight #home #movementculture #mainegirl #sunshinestateofmind #risetoshine #mindfulliving #blondegirl #shineyourlight #heartopen #portlandme #maineliving #onlyin207 #happyhealthy #naturalmaine #garmin #naturalnewengland #mainelife #glamping #thewaylifeshouldbe (at Portland, Maine) https://www.instagram.com/p/B3ImfKDgeb-/?igshid=15lp84z2py3v8
