You turn around to look at your Captain. The grin on his face belies the annoyance in his words.
âYouâre just jealous,â you joke lightly and slap his hand when he tries to take one of the apple slices from the pie youâre about to bake.
âJealous? Yes, I am. Why do you never make homemade apple pie for me?â
âTake a guess,â you joke again and put the pie in the oven, before starting to clean the small kitchen in your tiny shore leave apartment.
âOooh, itâs because you looove him.â The Captain sings, smirks and takes a sip of his drink.
You laugh at that. âHow right you are.â
âAnd are you telling him that? No.â
You spare yourself the effort of a last comment. Youâve had the discussion a few times now.
âOh wow, is that apple pie?â
Leonard steps through the door and you look up to smile at him.
âHomemade and fresh out of the oven.â
Thereâs a smile on his face now, equally surprised and happy. You can see his dimples and the absence of dark circles around his eyes. Heâs well rested, shore leave is doing him good.
âAnd itâs only for you,â Jim drawls out and steps out of the bathroom, a grin on his face.
You roll your eyes at the Captain and cut a piece out of the pie, dropping it on a plate.
âIf you ask nicely, you might get a piece too.â
âWell, can I have one?â The Captain directs his blue eyes at you and you smile, shrug and point your knife at Leonard whoâs taken place at the small table.
âAsk him?â
âWell, can I?â Jim asks his friend, trying to grab the plate youâre about to place in front of Leonard.
âNo.â
âWell then Iâll leave,â Jim comments and you both look at him in surprise. Itâs not like him to not even put up a fight.
âAre you sure?â You ask, even contemplating giving him a piece nonetheless.
âYes. And you two⊠have some⊠interesting conversations.â
He winks at you and you understand.
You let him leave and slip onto the chair on the other side of the table. Leonard sends you a confused glance.
âWhat is he talking about?â
âHe wants me to tell you that I love you.â
Leonard looks at you and reaches out his hand to take yours.
âHavenât you told him that you already told me this morning? And the morning before andâŠâ
âAnd all the other mornings before? No. Itâs funny how annoyed he gets.â
Leonard grins and takes a bite of the pie.
âOh, gosh, this is good,â he moans and you smile at him and squeeze his hand.
âOnly the best for you. And a little bit of apple pie is good for the soul.â
âYouâre spoiling me.â
âIâm taking care of you,â you disagree, âAll the grumbling you have to do at work must tire you out somehow.â
âYou treat me like Iâm special.â
âYou are special,â you disagree again, âAlso I love you.â
He chuckles. âI wish that I knew what makes you think Iâm so specialâŠâ
âWell⊠I could tell you,â you smile, âI could probably tell you one reason a day for the rest of your life. But where would the fun be then, then?â
âYouâre never going to tell me, huh?â
You lean over the table instead, kissing him right on the lips. âNever.â

This is actually a birthday gift for a lovely Trekkie friend, who happens to be a dedicated French teacher, but I hope youâll enjoy it, too!Â
Summary:
Leonard finally makes it to the Family Days, helps a little boy out, and has a conversation with Joanna about bullying.
Read it on AO3: Family Days at Joannaâs School  Â
âDaddyyyyyyyy!â
The squeal could be heard all over the schoolâs sportsgrounds, and startled people turned their heads to see little Joanna McCoy racing across the lawn towards a man, who was just getting out of his hovercar.
âDaddy, daddy, you came! You came to our Family Days!â she cheered a little less loudly and threw herself at the beaming man, jumping right into his open arms.
âGood to see you, too, pumpkin,â McCoy laughed, squeezing her tightly, his heart soaring at his darling daughterâs boisterous greeting.
âWhy didnât you tell me?â she pulled back after a moment to look at him with big, reproachful eyes, and it took all his self-control and then some not to burst out laughing at the outrage on her face.
It was like looking in the mirror.
Sheâs a mini-me, if ever there was one, the doctor thought affectionately.
âIâm sorry, sweetheart, I couldn't,â he answered gently. âI wasnât sure I was going to make it here in time.â
âBut now I didnât get to look forward to having you here for the Family Days!â Joanna pouted, even as the big grin made its way back across her face. âOr register for all the competitions we could do together.â
âIâm sure theyâll make an exception for us, and we can still register, sweat pea,â McCoy kissed the top of her head and set her back down on the ground. âI really couldn't tell you before, you know. Because daddy only ever makes promises he can keep. You understand that?â
âYes, daddy,â she sighed and, quickly losing interest in their discussion as she spotted her grandma waving at them from the cake and pie stall, grabbed the doctorâs hand to pull him along.
âWelcome home, Leonard,â McCoyâs mother smiled when theyâd reached the stall, wrapping him in a big hug. âIâm so glad you made it!â
âGranny knew?â the frown was back on Joannaâs face. âYou told her? Donât you have to keep your promises to her?â
âOf course, I do, honey,â the doctor laughed, ruffling her hair. âBut I never promised her Iâd come. I just told her Iâd try.â
Joanna seemed satisfied with his answer and turned around to search the sports grounds for a suitable activity they could participate in.
âAre you a fast runner, daddy?â she asked, looking at him appraisingly.
âThat depends,â he chuckled. âIf the cookie monster is threatening to eat the last piece of my favourite peach cobbler, I sure am fast as lightning!â
âYouâre silly, daddy,â Joanna giggled. âThere is no cookie monster, and youâre standing right next to a gazillion peach cobblers.â
âOh, right,â McCoy feigned surprise, looking around the stall with all its cakes and pies. âSo, what were you thinking of?â
âI want us to do the water bucket relay race over there. Can we, please?â
âOf course, we can,â the doctor smiled, winking at his mother and hurrying after his little girl to their first competition of the day.
x-x-x-x-x
Several activities and competitions later, an exhausted McCoy and his daughter were about to settle down on the grass near the cake and pie stall with cold drinks and an ice cream for Joanna, when a boy, looking close to tears, almost slammed into them, apparently trying to get away from four girls who were chasing him and laughing at him over something.
The girls came to stand right next to Joanna, and one of them pointed a finger at the boy, whoâd sat down on the grass, face covered in his hands.
âMy dadâs great,â he cried indignantly. âHe just has to work, and he does love me!â
âLook at him, Jo!â the girl sneered. âNo one likes him. Not even his own dad. Finn registered them for so many competitions, but his dad didnât even show up today.â
âHe canât help it, if he has to pull an extra shift!â the boy, Finn obviously, murmured defeatedly, but the girls werenât even listening, too busy taunting him.
McCoy was watching the scene closely, waiting for the right moment to intervene. It was clear that Joanna didnât agree with the other girls who tried to get her to join in. He knew the outraged look on her face, when she was disgusted by something, only too well, and couldn't wait to hear her set those girls straight.
Joanna, however, just turned around and quietly walked away. The doctor was very disappointed to see his daughter abandoning the poor boy. Heâd have to talk to her about this later. But right now, he had to put an end to the bullying. So, he went over to Finn and, crouching down next to him, disapprovingly fixed the girls, one after the other, with his eyes.
âDo you ever stop to think before you speak, girls?â he asked sternly. âHave you even considered that his dad might not have had a choice? That maybe he is needed at work more than other dads are? Some people have important jobs they canât just leave at any given time.â
McCoy turned towards Finn and put a comforting hand on the boyâs shoulder. âWhat does your dad do, kid?â
âHeâs a paramedic,â Finn answered shyly.
âOh wow, thatâs one of the most important jobs of all! Just like fire fighters and other heroes!â the doctor exclaimed, looking back up at the girls, who were awkwardly shifting from one foot to the other now. âJust imagine if one of your dads or someone else you love had an accident, and there were no paramedics on duty to help them, just because theyâd all decided theyâd rather spend time with their families.â
The girls looked away, adequately chastened by the doctorâs words. All but one, who spoke up, looking at him defiantly.
âBut still, there are plenty of other paramedics. Surely his dad could have made time for the Family Days, if heâd really wanted to!â
âItâs not always that easy, my dear,â McCoy replied more gently now, grateful to have got the girls thinking at least. âSometimes there are emergencies, and they always take priority over private engagements. Iâm a doctor myself, and this is the first time I could make it to the Family Days.â
âBut thatâs different! You work in space!â
âHow is that different? Saving lives is always important, no matter where â space, Earth, or any other planet!â
x-x-x-x-x
After the girls had toddled off, and Finn had run off with a grateful little smile, too, McCoy had gone to find Joanna, whoâd been watching from around the corner of the cake and pie stall.
It had been evident that she was proud of him while clearly less than proud of herself, and since the doctor hadnât wanted to spoil the rest of the day for her, heâd just hugged her to him, brushed a kiss on her hair, and smiled, âLetâs talk in the evening, sweetheart, shall we? Because right now, I want to have some more fun with my darling daughter!â
So here they were, sitting on Grannyâs comfortable couch after dinner, when McCoy brought the issue up again.
âNow tell me, pumpkin, why did you just walk away from Finn this afternoon?â he asked, trying not to sound too reproving.
âWell, I didnât join in, did I? I hate when my friends make fun of him!â
âSo, those were you friends, eh?â the doctor raised a quizzical eyebrow.
âYes. They can be really nice, you know, dad,â Joanna sighed. âBut for some reason, they always have it out for Finn.â
âThat sounds like theyâre bullying him, Jo. Are they?â
âI donât know. Maybe.â
âSo, you didnât join in,â McCoy went on. âIâm proud that you donât just follow your friendsâ lead and make your own choices instead. But, Joanna, in this case, not joining in wasnât enough, you know that, donât you?â
âWhat else could I have done?â she asked, but he could tell that she knew the answer perfectly well.
âStand up for him, of course!â he spelled it out for her anyway. âAnd if those are your friends, it should have been particularly easy for you to make them stop.â
âBut I didnât really know what to say, dad! After all, youâre not often around, either,â his daughter countered with a helpless little shrug.
Joanna was just trying to explain, of course. McCoy was aware of that. She didnât even sound accusing, and knowing her, probably didnât mean it that way, either. But it was still like a punch in the gut. Because she was right. He wasnât there for his little girl nearly as much as he should. Or would like to be.
Joining Starfleet had seemed like the logical choice at the time, putting some distance between him and his ex-wife after giving in to Jocelynâs demand of full custody instead of dragging Joanna through a long and ugly battle in court. But maybe he should have fought harder.
Suddenly, the meaning behind Joannaâs words struck home.
âIâm so sorry, sweetheart! Did they give you a hard time, too? Have you been bullied for not having your dad around?â
âNo, never,â Joanna shook her head vehemently. âTheyâre my friends, and with you, itâs totally different. Youâre a cele ⊠a celeb ⊠kind of really famous!â
âA celebrity?â McCoy couldn't help but smile at that, relieved that his daughter hadnât been bullied because of him.
âYes, that,â Joanna nodded. âAnd besides, Finnâs not even my friend!â
âSo?â the doctor asked, the conversation back to the topic of bullying now. âIf someone gets bullied, we stand up for them! Thatâs what we do! No matter if theyâre a friend or not. We donât just ignore it and hope itâll simply go away again. Youâd want someone to stand up for you, too, if it happened to you, wouldnât you?â
âI guess so.â
Having made his point and knowing that Joanna was feeling bad enough about the whole thing anyway, the doctor moved on to the next question.
âWhy are they bullying Finn anyway?â
âIâm not sure,â his daughter responded. âProbably because heâs such an easy victim.â
âI see,â McCoy said thoughtfully. âSo, thatâs where we have to start. Tonight, weâll make a plan how to help him be less of a victim, all right? You can be quite bossy, sweet pea! Iâm sure thereâs a lot you can teach him about self-confidence!â
âI probably could,â Joanna grinned.
âPerfect!â the doctor smiled, holding up his hand for her to high-five. âAnd weâll also figure out a way to convince your friends that bullying is a horrible thing to do.â
âYes, daddy, letâs!â his daughter nodded enthusiastically, clapping their hands together, then proudly added, âWeâre McCoys after all, we can make a change!â
âWhere did you get that from?â McCoy chuckled, lovingly pressing a kiss to Joannaâs forehead.
âGranny always says that,â the girl explained, snuggling comfortably into her daddyâs arms.
Ah, good old mom! the doctor thought. Sheâd taught him all about values, and apparently, she was also making sure that Joanna got hers right, too.
âAnd, Jo,â McCoy returned to the subject of bullying one more time, âif your friends wonât listen to you, and the bullying goes on, you have to tell a teacher, ok? Bullying is a serious matter, and it often needs an adult to deal with it. You understand?â
âYes, daddy,â his daughter nodded earnestly, âI understand. If I have to, Iâll probably tell my French teacher. Iâm sure sheâd be happy to help. And I promise I wonât just walk away again.â
âGlad to hear that, sweetheart!â the doctor smiled, immensely enjoying having this conversation with his daughter while holding her close instead of just seeing her face on a screen. âOne more question, though. Why didnât I get to meet the fabulous Ms. Annie, today?â
âOh daddy!â Joanna giggled, playfully hitting his arm. âWhy do you always get her name wrong? And youâd better not let her hear you calling her Ms. Annie â she hates that! Her nameâs Ms. Anne. With a silent âeâ.â
âAll right, all right, pumpkin,â McCoy chuckled, impressed by his daughterâs linguistic expertise, and couldn't resist teasing her a little. âIâll make sure to always call her Ms. Anne with a silent âeâ from now on.â
âDaddy!â his daughter exclaimed, rolling her eyes, âYouâre so embarrassing!â
âOh, am I now?â the doctor grinned, rolling his eyes, too, in perfect McCoy manner. âWell, maybe if I finally got to meet her, I wouldnât get confused over her name anymore!â
âYouâll meet her tomorrow, daddy, I promise,â Joanna beamed. âShe couldn't be there today. Something to do with her family. I think she had to go look at some colleges with her son or something. But after all the sports today, tomorrow is quiz day. And Ms. Anne always has the best quizzes! Itâll be quite a challenge for you to win them!â
âI canât wait!â McCoy laughed, groaning inwardly at the quiz part, but looking forward to finally meeting this fabled teacher. âAnd make sure to introduce me!â

Summary: Bones love life was rough in the past, and when he finds you he is afraid of messing it all up again.Â
Pairing: Leonard McCoy x Reader
Word Count: 2k
Warning: None?
A/N: Hi everyone! I was listening to Adeleâs song âWater Under The Bridgeâ (go listen to it if you havenât already!) and instantly felt inspired, so here it is! Hope you enjoy it, feedback is always appreciated! Love you all xoxo.
His fingers typed quickly the patientâs information on the padd. There was complete silence in his studio besides the normal spaceship sounds and the small chattering outside in the Medbay.
His fingers started slowing down and ultimately came to a stop. Bonesâ lifted his head from the pad and peered to the side, in an unknown direction, lost in thought. Minutes passed by until he finally regained his attention with a sigh and a small shake of his head, determined to finally finish what he was doing. But he couldnât.
Every time he tried to not think about it, his mind would instantly drift away and he couldnât do anything to stop it, making his job even harder to finish.
Out of frustration, he pushed the pad away then passed his hands down his face while he left a loud sigh. A soft knocking sound broke the silence in his studio.
âDoctor McCoy?â
Leaning back in his chair Bones sighed. âCome inâ
Nurse Chapel entered with a small smile âI finished doing the inventory, you just have to sign this Doctorâ
Without saying anything, Bones took the padd from the nurseâs hands and signed it quickly.
Noticing the frown on his face, the nurse asked softly âAre you ok Doctor McCoy?â
Even though she knew really well the Doctorâs temper and his grumpy demeanor, it was unusual even for him to be so serious and thoughtful. Not a sarcastic remark or small talks of some kind.
âYes, yes⊠Iâm fineâ he dismissed her rapidly and went back to what he was doing.
Chapel gave him a sympathetic smile and exited quietly.
The day went by normally, but any task or stitches Bones would perform, his mind was never there for more then five minutes.  Nurse Chapel wasnât the only one who noticed it, firstly his friend Kirk, and even Spock who commented that âThe Doctorâs  moody demeanor was quite worse than usualâ
Kirk at first ignored his first commanderâs comment but he soon got a confirmation when it was time for lunch, and he was avoiding his annual physical, again.
This was the third time Kirk had rescheduled his appointment, but Bones knew him far too well, he knew he would never come down to Medbay of his own accord. Like every other year, he always had to force him or take him by surprise, injecting him with his hypos around the ship, in the most random occasions.
So when Kirk sat down to enjoy his meal next to Spock and saw Bones approaching his table with the most serious expression drawn on his face, he instantly thought it was there to take him away. However it didnât happen. Bones sat down quietly, placed his tray on the table and started eating without acknowledging the fearful expression on Kirkâs face.
âBones?â
Without even lifting his head the Doctor hummed lightly. âMmmh?â
âI thought you were here to drag me down to Medbayâ
âFor what?â
Kirk was very confused at this point. Bones never ever forgot about those kind of things: something was really up to him.
âMy annual physi-â
âGood morning Captain, sorry for bothering you, I just wanted to inform you that me and Mr Scott are working assiduously to repair the main reactorâ
A silvery voice interrupted Kirkâs comment, making Bonesâ heart skip a beat. For the first time in that conversation, his eyes darted up to meet your beautiful face.
âWe should be able to reach warp speed in no more than few hoursâ you assured with a smile.
âY/n! Alright, thank you. Why donât you join us?â Kirk said pointing to the empty spot near him and Bones.
You looked briefly between the two men, instantly feeling uneasy but tried not to show it. Feeling Bonesâ eyes on you, you excused yourself.
âSorry Captain, I must go finish the reparations, Scotty is probably waiting for meâ and with that you walked away, leaving Kirk speechless. The Captain immediately looked at his friend who was now sighing with his eyes down to the tray.
âBones, what happened with Y/n?â
âDoctor, your expression and manner suggests an inner conflictâ
âSpock your concern flutters meâ Bones responded sarcastically.
The First Commander cocked his eyebrow.
âCome on Bones, what is it?â
I ruined everything. She is the light of my life, and I ruined everything he wanted to say. His heart ached.
âItâs nothingâ he stood up, leaving his food almost untouched and his friend in total confusion. He was probably heading back to Medbay.
    ___________________________________________________
A loud knock made Bones almost jump in his seat. He was ready to shout at whoever knocked before seeing Kirkâs head popping out behind the door.
âJim what the hellâ
âMay I?â he asked swinging a bottle of whiskey in his hand. A grunt from the Doctor was the answer as he entered placing the bottle down on his friendâs desk.
âI guess you are not here to enjoy a good whiskey Jimâ
âYou are rightâ he confirmed with a playful smile while pouring two glasses.
Bones took one and drank, the hot feeling of the alcohol calmed his nerves a bit.
âListen, if you are here to talk about Y/n, I have nothing to sayâ
Kirk looked at him trying to ignore his stubbornness.
âCome on Bones, I know you. I can see there is something wrong. You are distracted, grumpier than usual. You didnât try to chase me after I rescheduled three times my appointment. Even Spock noticed it.â
The Doctor continued looking at the glass in his hands, occasionally taking a sip from it, tasting the liquor.
Hearing no response from him, Jim urged âSpit it outâ as he also took a sip of the drink.
Bones knew Jim too, he knew he would never give up before hearing what he had to say about the situation. Trying to find the right words to use, he placed down his glass.
âItâs just...â he sighed âIâm not the one for herâ
Jim furrowed his eyebrows âWhat do you mean?â
âMy love life has been a mess, the past sometimes still haunts meâ
Kirk gave him a sympathetic smile.
âAnd then I found her...she is amazing, truly. I almost thought I could be happy again. But Iâm not the one for her, she needs someone better than me, someone whoâs not so messed up like me. So I tried to keep my distance but I canât. I canât stop thinking about her...â
Jim was surprised to say the least: seeing his friend like this was completely new for him. He knew that his past was haunting him but what he was saying about you made no sense. He was there when Bones first saw you and he could swear he had never seen his friend so fond of someone. The way he looked at you during meetings, while you talked. He was madly in love.
But so were you.
âBones, I saw Y/n when sheâs around you. She is in love.â his friend looked up to meet his eyes, hope drawn on his features.
âKeep her away can led only to suffering. For both of you.â he smiled. Bones simply nodded.
âYou should talk to-â
A loud banging sound could be heard throughout all the ship. Jim and Bones instinctively put their hands around their armchair to maintain balance and not fall to the ground.
âWhat the hell was that?â the CMO shouted.
The computer beeped before Jim could respond.
âBridge to Captainâ Chekovâs voice.
âKirk here. Mr. Chekov what is going on?â
âThe main reactor Sir. It seems there was a radiation leakage down in engineer, there was an explosion Sir.â
Jim turned his head to his friend in utter surprise as Bones eyes widened in horror.
âY/nâ he whispered.
Without thinking about it twice he stood up in a second and sprinted outside Medbay, Jim right behind him.

âI donât know lassie, you should talk to himâ
Since Leonard and you met the first time, for you it was love at first sight. Deep down you knew, he it was the same for him: the way he looked at you, how he remembered small things that you liked, his attentions⊠But then in a blink of an eye he started avoiding you, he seemed almost scared. You couldnât understand why.
âI know Scotty, I know. But he is avoiding me...â you sighed earning a raised eyebrow from Scotty.
âHe probably doesnât want to lose you too, his past is roughâ
You looked down for a brief moment, then took the screwdriver and started tighten some parts.
âSo avoiding people is the new way to get through it?â
Scotty was standing by your side, watching as you fixed the last circuits âI saw how he looks at you, everyone noticed it to be honest. He was less grumpier than usual with you by his side I have to tell you lassieâ
The idea of being by his side made you smile a little. With a quick movement you stood up and met Scottyâs eyes.
âDoneâ you said rubbing away the dirt from your uniform.
âNice work lassâ he smiled âI can finish here, go talk to-â
Before he could say anything else, a loud sound surrounded both of them.
Then an explosion.
     ___________________________________________________
The corridors to engineer were teeming with nurses and other crew members called by Kirk in order to find the source of the explosion and to assist possible wounded shipmates.
When Jim and Bones arrived, some hurt ensigns were already been carried away, some others were only intoxicated by the smoke and were headed out the engineer room with a little help.
Bones looked around frenetically, you were nowhere to be seen.
âSpock report!â
âCaptain, the explosion seemed to have damaged just some secondary valve, no damage to the warp coreâ
âThatâs goodâ he left out a sigh of relief while following Bones with his eyes who was trying to find you âWhat about the crew?â
âSome wounded ensigns, no mortal injuriesâ
The smoke was thick, seeing what was inside the room was impossible. Bones patience was running thin when suddenly he heard some coughing coming from inside.
You and Scotty appeared with your hand clenched to your mouths, trying to prevent toxic inhalations.
âY/n!â
Hearing your name made your head turn as you saw Bones approaching you quickly.
âLe-â you couldnât finish because his strong arms encircled you.
âAre you ok? Are you hurt?â his hands traveled down to your forearms.
âIâm fineâ you coughed.
âIâm fine too Doctorâ said Scotty sarcastically.
You continued coughing and Bones urged âWe need to go to Medbayâ
     ___________________________________________________
Sitting on the biobed you could feel Bonesâ breath on your neck as he examined your lungs. The beeping of the tricorder was the only sound in the room. You could hear all the voices and the frenetic footsteps outside, but you two were completely quiet. Just your sporadic cough waves.
It was you voice that broke the silence after few minutes.
âYou know⊠If I'm not the one for you, you've gotta stop holding me the way you did beforeâ
Bones heart started hammering again in his chest âI thought you were hurt, or worseâ
He walked around the bed to stay in front of you.
âSweetheart I...â he sighed placing down the tricorder. Luckily, you were completely fine.
You took courage and asked âWhy are you avoiding me Leonard? Did I do something wrong?â
âNo Y/n, you didnâtâ he took your hands in his and gently rubbed soft circles. âI was afraid.â
Your eyebrows raised in perplexity.Â
âThe first time i saw your face i knew i was in love but i also knew that you needed someone better than me...â
âDonât even say thatâ your grip in his hands tightened for an instant.Â
âLen i know your past, i know what happened, but donât let it bring you down. Just have hope... in us. Just donât pretend that you donât want me, pleaseâ
âThe only thing i want is you Y/n, i canât stay away from you, i canât stop thinking about you and i donât want to mess things up again, not with you, you are too importanto to meâ your heart melted.Â
âYou wonâtâ you smiled.Â
He couldnât hold back a smile, full of happiness, happiness he thought he would never feel again in his life.Â
Standing up you looked into his eyes, meeting his steady glare. His hand slowly made its way to your face as he stroke away a strand of hair behind you ear. You heart faltered.
His free hands came up to cup your face along with the other. Your faces just few inches away.Â
Then he kissed you, passionately, intensely. You melted in that blissful moment.
Bones smiled when your lips parted âI promise. I wonâtâ

Request: No
Pairing:Â Leonard McCoy x Kirk!reader
Summary:Â Throughout the time you spent on Enterprise, you had fallen in love with a certain doctor. After you confessed your feelings to him, he told you those feelings were mutual. Youâve been dating ever since. However, you made an agreement that no one could know. Especially not your brother, who happened to be the captain of the ship.Â
Warnings: None
Word count:Â 1K
A/N: I just thought this idea was cute. My requests are open, so feel free to send some in. Enjoy reading!! :)
It took Enterprise three days to get the transporter back online. Three days. You spent three days all alone on a deserted planet. You had been down there with Spock, taking samples of all the newly discovered plants and other elements of the planet. Given that there was some sort of radiation interfering with the transporter, they couldnât beam you up together. Scotty was supposed to beam you up right after beaming Spock up. But after Spock had disappeared, nothing happened.Â
You waited, and you waited, and tried to communicate with Enterprise but they didnât respond. Even though you knew it must had something to do with the radiation, you still kept trying to contact them. But hours later, it was getting dark and cold and so you had to go and find shelter for the night.Â
That was three days ago. You had returned to the spot where they had beamed Spock back aboard the ship. Youâre currently looking at the sky. If you squint your eyes, you could see Enterprise. You try to contact them for what feels like the millionth time, but there still isnât any response. You sigh and sit down on the ground. Your eyes are itchy due to the lack of sleep. No matter how hard you tried, you couldnât fall asleep. Probably because you waited for Enterprise to contact you.
You tilt your head back to look up again and squint your eyes. Leonard was probably worried sick. A small smile appears on your lips as you imagine him following Jim around the ship. Leonard would probably stop talking to Jim once you are back on board. You sigh again. Jim would probably be worried sick as well. You couldnât imagine your boyfriend or your brother getting enough rest or a decent meal as long as youâre still on the planet.Â
You let yourself fall backwards and close your eyes. It didnât seem like they would contact you any time soon, so why not try to get at least 15 minutes of sleep? The ground feels rather hard, even though itâs mostly sand. You take a deep breath and exhale, clutching your communicator in your hand. If they would contact you, you would know and you would wake up.
The familiar beeping sounds faint, and a little distant. You groan and open your eyes. Itâs dark, and the temperature must have dropped at least twenty degrees. You blink a few times in order to wake yourself. Judging from the darkness youâre in, you must have gotten at least two hours of sleep.
You suddenly remember why you woke up. You can hear Jimâs voice through the communicator youâre holding.
âY/N? Y/N? You out there? Y/N, respond! Come in, please.â he says.Â
You canât help but to sigh out of relief.Â
âYeah, I hear you, Jim.â you say. âIâm here.â
âOh, thank god.â says Jim.Â
âYou guys figure out how to fix the transporter?â you say and you hear Jim chuckle.
âYeah, Scotty fixed it. Stand by, weâll beam you up.â says Jim.Â
You quickly get up and try to get some of the sand off your uniform. You inhale and close your eyes. When you open them, youâre on Enterprise, surrounded by familiar faces. The first one you see is Jim, followed by Scotty, Spock and of course, Leonard.Â
Without hesitation, Leonard walks up to you and pulls you in his arms. You breathe in his scent and smile.
âHello Lee.â you say softly.
âScared the hell out of me, darlinâ. Donât do that ever again.â says Leonard.
âIâm okay. No need to worry, Iâm right here.â you say. Leonard is still holding you when someone loudly clears their throat.Â
You let go of Leonard and see Jim is looking at you, eyebrows raised. Scotty is looking from you and Leonard back to Jim. And even Spock has a slightly surprised look on his face. Jim opens his mouth to say something, frowns, and closes his mouth again. He keeps frowning as heâs thinking.
âJim?â you say. âSomething you want to say?â
Jim slowly walks up to you and Leonard, clearly still trying to find the right words. He points to you and Leonard.
âYou and- uh- whatâs happening? Why? And how?â stutters Jim.
âIt appears that Lieutenant Kirk and Doctor McCoy are in a romantic relationship.â says Spock. You roll your eyes and look at the Vulcan.
âThanks, Spock.â you say sarcastically. Leonard mutters something underneath his breath and youâre thankful Spock canât hear him.
âYouâre welcome.â says Spock, thinking he helped you.
âBut, since when? Youâre my sister, Y/N. And Bones, youâre my- I donât get it. How? When? I donât get it.â says Jim, still confused. You step closer to your brother.
âJim, look at me.â you say. He does so and you look into his eyes. âListen, I get that you have a lot of questions. I get that we need to have a conversation about this. But Iâm cold, and Iâm covered in sweat and sand. I need a shower and I need to catch up on some sleep. Weâll talk about it some other day, yeah? Iâm going to bed.â you say.
âThe hell you are.â says Leonard behind you. You turn around to look at him.
âIâm going to check you for any injuries first.â he says. You sigh.
âLee, please, Iâm tired.â you say.
âYou can sleep after I confirm youâre okay.â says Leonard. He takes your hand in his and walks toward the door. As you walk through it, you catch Scottyâs eyes, who is still gazing at you and Leonard, trying to process what he just witnessed. You can almost feel Jimâs eyes burning in your back. Nevertheless, you follow Leonard through the halls. Youâll have the brother-sister talk some other day.

Fandom: Star Trek TOS / AOS
Characters: Leonard Bones McCoy, Christine Chapel
Warnings: Tickling, Smut, eventual fluff
Word Count: 1,904
Summary:
The one where McCoy is still tied to the biobed, still insanely ticklish, but doesn't mind so much anymore, since Chapel knows exactly how to use her newly-found knowledge to take them both to the next level.
(Chapelâs POV)
To find out how they got themselves in this situation, you might want to read either (or both) of these first:
A Ticklish Predicament - McCoyâs POV
A Ticklish Predicament - Chapelâs POV Â
âSo, you made me feel all guilty while secretly enjoying this, Doctor? Thatâs pretty mean! You so need to be punished!â Chapel tried to sound menacing, doing her best to hide her delight at how this whole surreal episode was panning out.
For McCoy to see her getting so aroused by his predicament would normally have mortified Christine, but when heâd surprised her by casually offering to do something about it, the throbbing desire in her panties had overwhelmed every other emotion. This was the hottest thing sheâd ever experienced, the kink she never knew she had, and with the man of her dreams, too! Sheâd definitely never been more turned on in her life.
She couldnât help it. Without further warning, she attacked that evil spot on either side of the doctorâs ribs, just below his armpits, again. This time clawing a little more often than just once, to devastating effect.
McCoy instantly dissolved into bright, helpless laughter once more. That spot certainly was intense, but still not as bad as his feet had been. Sure, he was laughing his head off, arching and twisting like crazy, but the sounds that came out of his mouth were definitely laughter, not agonised shrieks. And he was also still able to beg, which he did in abundance.
BAAAAAAWAHAHAHAHA! Oh my GOHOHOHOHOD! Anywhere but THEHEHEHEHERE! AHAHAHAHA! Canât TAHAHAHAHAHKE it! AHAHAHAHA! No more PLEEEEEEEHEHEHEASE! Christine DOHOHOHONâT! Absolute death SPOHOHOHOHOT! Stop! AHAHAHAHA! Stop! AHAHAHAHA! Canât breathe! STOHOHOHOHOP!
Thrashing around like a possessed man, the doctor fell into silent laughter, and Christine immediately took her hands away again, watching him suck in big gulps of air, fascinated by how long it took for the twitching and giggling to stop, a few tears of laughter still running down his face.
âTalk about mean,â he growled, when he was finally able to get some words out again, nodding towards his boxers, and Chapel was taken aback to see that the bulge seemed to have grown even further. âYou were supposed to help me out there, not make it worse!â
Slowly approaching the tent in his boxers, demonstratively licking her lips, Christine was amused to notice that, in his eagerness, the doctor didnât even ask her to untie him anymore.
âYouâre not ticklish there, too, are you?â she teased as she gripped his hard member through the material, making him groan loudly and arch into her palm, desperate to find some friction.
And before he even had the chance to answer, the nurse found a little wet spot of pre-cum and gently started rubbing there, teasing his slit through his underwear, eliciting desperate moans and frantic rutting.
âMy, my, tickling sure turns you on, doesnât it?â Chapel purred, enjoying the power she held over McCoyâs lust.
âPlease, Christine, I need help with âŠâ
He broke off abruptly when the fingers of her other hand started to dance all over his belly, making him erupt into frenzied giggling, hitting those unbearably ticklish spots where belly meets sides.
Nooooohohohoho! Eeeeehehehevil! Give me a BREHEHEHEHEAK! Nonononono! Not THEHEHEHEHERE! Please no! No! NO! NOOOOO! Not THEHEHEHEHEHEHRE! AAAAAAAAHAHAHA!
The doctor was in tickle hell again, just from a little belly rub. Chapelâs own desire went up another notch just from knowing how easily she could destroy him without any effort at all. And he surely knew it, too. Being so helpless and vulnerable must kill him, she thought, as she let her fingers explore the tickle spots on his lower belly with only the lightest touch.
AEEEEEEH! McCoy squealed when she hit an especially tender spot, then started to cackle helplessly, as she viciously scratched over that same spot again and again until she saw that he really couldnât take any more. Â
âYou need help?â the nurse asked innocently, when sheâd eased off again, letting him catch much-needed breath.
The doctor just grunted, still huffing and puffing, the muscles in his belly still fluttering.
âWith this?â
She gave his member a few more firm strokes, her grip on his shaft strong enough to turn his residual giggles into moans, the fingers of her other hand now gently tapping his glans.
âSweet Jesus, yes, Christine,â McCoy groaned, lifting his hips to grind against her hands. âMore please!â
âMore?â she grinned mischievously before going on to test his thighs for ticklishness, her devious fingernails lightly skittering all over the sensitive insides. Â
Jackpot.
This time they were both surprised the restraints still held, with him bucking and thrashing so hard, Chapel thought he might topple over the whole bed with her sitting on its edge.
McCoy cackled and squealed like a maniac, not even trying to form words to beg, just giving in to the unbearable sensation, and the nurse knew sheâd have to stop soon. This was really killing him.
âWho would have thought this was such a harrowing spot?â Chapel thought in awe, as she watched the doctor come off his ticklish frenzy, seeming rather surprised himself.
âChristine, I really needâŠâ he started, hardly able to speak through his heavy breathing.
â... my help here, I can see that,â she chuckled, impressed by how hard he still was, despite all this debilitating tickling, and feeling a huge surge of tenderness for this man, who let her torture him in a way that was almost impossible for him to endure, just because he knew how severely it turned her on. Â
So, before touching him where he so desperately needed her to, she leaned towards his face, making him writhe and giggle a little by walking two fingers teasingly up his stomach and chest, and then pressed the softest kiss on his lips. No more tickling, just a warm, honest kiss full of love and longing, to which he responded with hot passion.
âIâve been in love with you forever, Leonard,â she breathed, âbut this is so much better than my wildest dreams.â
McCoy looked at her, and she could see genuine affection shining through the burning desire in his eyes. Â
âBut before we let this go any further, I need to know that youâre all right with it, and if you have feelings for me, too. Because,â she let the teasing tone creep back into her voice, âI can either just finish you off, give you what youâve definitely earned, or we could have some more fun.â
âMore fun,â he smiled unhesitatingly. âIâve dreamed about you for a long time, too, Christine. Well, not exactly about this, but still...â
âIâve never known I was into tickling until today,â Chapel admitted, looking sincerely at him, âand if you hate it, Iâll untie you nowâŠâ
âIâve hated it until today,â the doctor cut in softly, âor at least I thought I did. Because most people just canât lay off once they find out how insanely ticklish I am, and itâs torture. But as it turns out, I seem to find it hot, too.â
âIâll always be careful not to push you past your limits, respect any boundaries you set. And Iâll never touch your feet again unless you ask me to,â she grinned. âBut Iâll certainly explore the rest of your gorgeous body thoroughly.â
âI trust you, Christine,â he said, holding her gaze and sending a warm glow to her heart. âAnd I canât promise I wonât go back to just hating being tickled. Iâm the most ticklish CMO in the galaxy after all.â
âOh Leonard, I just made that up to tease you!â she cried out, feeling guilty for having been so cruel.
âIâm glad to hear it,â he chuckled. âAlthough Iâve never taken you for the evil kind.â
âItâs a side only you seem to bring out in me,â she smiled, pressing another soft kiss to his lips. âBut enough of the talking now. We still have unfinished business.â
And making a big show of not getting a hold on the elastic waistband, her fingers tickling the doctorâs belly mercilessly in the process, she finally pulled down his boxers to reveal a bone-hard member, ready to burst with the first stroke.
Hitching up her dress, Chapel climbed onto the biobed and straddled him, the feeling of his dick rubbing against the wet fabric of her uniform panties almost making her cum right away. Grinding against him, she unthinkingly let go of her skirt, and was completely surprised when he suddenly cried out in ticklish agony again, bucking so hard, he nearly threw her off.
SHIHIHIHIT! Get that awful dress off! AHAHAHAHA! Oh God! I CAHAHAHAHAHANâT! GAHAHAHAHAHAD! That DREHEHEHEHEHEHSS! So BAHAHAHAHAD! MEHEHEHEHERCY! AHAHAHAHAHA! STOHOHOHOHP! PLEHEHEHEHEASE!
But this time she couldnât stop right away. Grinding against him, his hard cock rubbing against her clit in the exactly right spot, with the exactly right speed, while hearing him scream ticklish laughter and seeing him writhe and buck underneath her from the unbearable tickling she was inflicting upon him, brought her to the edge within seconds.
Only when she exploded with the most intense orgasm of her life, could she bring herself to gather up her dress and free him from the excruciating torment of her skirt. And moments later, while she was still riding out her own climax, she felt the doctor erupt with an almost animalistic groan, his swollen dick pulsating against her throbbing womanhood, spouting hot, sticky strands of cum against her thighs, and rubbing her to her second orgasm.
Carefully taking off her uniform dress and discarding it onto the floor, so as not to inflict any more tickle torture on McCoy while he was still coming off his orgasmic high, she collapsed on top of him, feeling his over-sensitised belly and chest muscles twitching and fluttering even just from the touch of her bare skin and lacy bra.
âThat was awesome, Leonard,â she breathed, enjoying the feel of his warm, moist skin against hers.
Chapel was just thinking about getting up to actually untie him this time, so that he could take her in his arms, when she felt his chest starting to rumble and his body beginning to convulse again.
Looking up, she saw the doctorâs face scrunched up, as he clearly tried to hold back the laughter, obviously not wanting to spoil this moment of post-coital bliss for her.
âAwesome doesnât cut it,â he grinned at her, his voice still sounding a little strained as the suppressed laughter was ebbing away again.
âSo why the giggles just now?â Chapel asked, genuinely intrigued, leaning in for another kiss. âThe naughty dress is already on the floor.â
McCoy just smiled, seemingly still blissed out from his intense orgasm.
âYour hair, my armpit and neck,â he murmured, raising his head to tenderly cover her mouth with his soft lips.
âI love you, Leonard,â she whispered into his mouth.
âI love you, too, Christine,â he whispered back. âAnd now please untie me, so that we can take this to my quarters. I need to touch you, hold you, fill you. And I need my hands to take you to a place youâve never been before.â
Christineâs throat went dry, just thinking about what those legendary hands might do to stimulate her body even further.
âAnd no more tickling. At least not tonight,â McCoy growled, his voice low and titillating.
âSounds perfect to me,â Chapel purred against his lips, appreciating the promise in his words, before getting to her feet and â with extreme care â untying the doctor without forcing so much as a single giggle out of him.

His normally neat quarters were rather untidy that evening. On the far wall sat an old radio from earth he had found in an antique shop playing an even older song.
Underneath the tangle of blankets on the bed you laid, propped up on your elbow watching the doctor. The scent of whiskey mixed with his cologne was enough to drive you crazy and you sat giggling at something he said, but you couldnât remember what. He smirked at your drunken reaction. The song on the radio changed and he let out a slight laugh.
âWhat is it?â You asked, leaning over flirtatiously.
âMy mom used to sing me this song,â he said quietly. You listened to the scratchy cd play quietly and he started to hum along to it.
Country roads take me home to the place I belong West Virginia mountain momma take me home country roads.
âI thought you were from Georgia,â you giggled, poking at his chest.
âI am,â he smirked down at you, âdoesnât mean this song isnât good,â
âIâve never been to Georgia,â you mumbled after a moment of silence.
He turned to look at you with a raised eyebrow.
âItâs the most beautiful place on Earth,â he said, âI wanna go back,â
âWhat? You donât like space?â You teased, giggling some more.
âHell no,â he said annoyed, âit makes me anxious,â
âWell then I think you chose the wrong career path,â you giggled then proceeded to hiccup.
âI met you, didnât I?â It was true. His southern charm had one you over and for a moment you felt completely sober as you stared up at him. It was like you were meeting him all over again.
Name: Lunch?
Pairing: Dr. McCoy (Bones) x reader
Summary: the reader and Bones have been a couple for a long time, so the reader makes it the sole purpose of every lunch to get Bones to eat something.
âHey there, doctor,â you open the door and find McCoy sitting at a table, filling in his paperwork - busy as always, mindless of his own health.
âY/N, so nice of you to pop by! Are you alright?â
âI am, but you forgot about lunch again, sunshine,â Leonard moans and leans back in the chair, rubbing his forehead. âI havenât seen you since morning. You want to tell me you forgot about both breakfast and lunch... Again?â
âYes... Yes, I have,â he smiles apologetically, and you sit down across the table and place two trays in front of you - yours and his. Bones canât help but smile thankfully. âAnd you brought me food because you know that I am bad at time management. I do not deserve you, Y/N.â
âOf course you do, Len. Now, I know you love your salad, so here,â you push his tray towards McCoy and turn to your own plate. âI also scheduled your rest for the next hour, so I am getting you out of med bay. We can go to the deck or maybe even down to the planet for a short shore leave.â
âYou scheduled my rest? How did you get past Ms. Chapel?â
âChristine? Len, she is the one who let me change your schedule! No one wants your grumpy and sarcastic tiredness around. Well, I do, but thatâs only because you are adorable either way, love,â you smile at McCoyâs offended face, then he shakes his head.
âFine, fine. I will leave med bay and go spend time with you. Happy now?â he has no idea how happy you are - his lack of interest in his own health has been disturbing the entire crew for months now, and finally getting him to unwind is the best present for you. And everyone who has to deal with hi sarcasm on daily basis.
âVery,â you lean forward and plant a soft kiss on his frowning forehead that slowly clears. âYou are such a softie, Len.â
âShut up, Y/N,â but he does not sound mad - flattered, not mad.
âOh, so cute,â you chuckle, as he finishes chewing his meal and stands up, offering you his hand that you take without thinking, and Bones wraps his fingers around your palm. You are always surprised at how steady his hands are - he may be a doctor, but you have never believed that a man can go on for days with minimum sleep and still have the perfect grip. As you are about to leave the room, the emergency panel lights up, glowing with the bloodiest scarlet in the world. âLen...â
âThere are other doctors on deck. It is my time now,â he gives you a small smile, wrapping his hand around your shoulders and leading out of the cabin, as if there is no emergency light at all. You hear Christine sigh with relief, as you leave the med bay and head to the transporter room. There better be no danger on the surface of the planet, or you will personally put everybody down there to sleep until Bones gets his rest.
Request by @koalawoman:Â âHEY its me againâșâș could i request a bones x reader where reader is trying to escape a physical/medical exam and bones has the crew (uhura, spock, sulu etc) looking for her and it ends in fluff thanks for your time author-chan đđđâ âFor that bones fic just requested, can we have hugs and kisses???â
Words: 2,500+
Pairing/Characters: LeonardBonesMcCoyxReader, Jim Kirk, Uhura, Spock, Sulu, Scotty.
Warning: None? A few curses, fluff, some abandonment issues/angst with that.
Authorâs Note: I went slightly overboard. This idea really reminded me of my mini Embarrassment series with Steve Rogers of course (link is to Part 1). That also might have affected how I wrote this. I hope you all like it. Bones was fun to write. I like imagining a soft, fluffy side to him only his S/O sees. Anyway, here we are.
If McCoy rolled his eyes any harder it was of his medical opinion that they would roll right out of his head, because this woman was ridiculous. Y/N Y/L/N could stand up to anyone, put her life on the line for the crew at any given moment, and never backed down from anything, well anything except for a doctorâs appointment.
Heâd thought it was cute at first, his girlfriend being all nervous about something he viewed as so routine. But, after rescheduling and then just flat out not showing up, McCoy was genuinely concerned and annoyed. Mostly concerned, though the tone of his voice favored mostly annoyed as usual.
âJim,â McCoy said, demanding full attention as he strode onto the bridge, âIs Y/N here? She didnât show for her physical this morning.â
âHavenât seen her,â Kirk replied, swiveling in his chair to face McCoy, âTrouble in paradise, Bones?â
There went another eye roll, riddled with unamusement. What a miracle those things remained in his head, especially with the way Kirk was smirking at him. âShe hates doctors appointments, which is personal and something you donât need to know about. But she has to have an exam, where is she?â
âUhura?â
Uhura rose from her spot and strode over to the two men. âI havenât seen her since last night. She had dinner with Spock and I.â
Spock inclined his head toward the group at the mention of his name. âLieutenant Uhura is correct and Y/N did sign in this morning. But, it appears she is working remotely with her communicator off.â
âShe came in early this morning, grabbed a few things and headed out,â Sulu chimed in from his spot without glancing their direction, âSaid she had to run some tests.â
âWell, whereâd she go?â McCoy repeated, mainly at Sulu who shrugged. âOkay. Letâs just get this over with. We have to find her. Iâll take her room and engineering. Uhura-â
âShe might be on the recreational deck, Iâll look there,â she cut across the doctor, âAnd Spock-â
âWhy not simply alert the crew to the situation, she will be found much faster,â the resident half-vulcan countered logically.
âFaster and much angrier, which I assure you, none of us wants,â McCoy returned, shaking his head just at the thought of how furious youâd be with him specificallyâŠ
Showing no signs of comprehension to that aspect of the situation, Spock quieted with an air of skepticality.
âThe main decks might be a safe bet,â Kirk continued with Uhuraâs previously interrupted suggestion.
âShe could be in the lab too,â Uhura offered, a definitive determination in her voice.
âOkay, letâs find her, I have to talk to herâŠâ McCoy grumbled, raking his hand across his face tiredly.
~
It was almost noon and you couldnât have been more surprised youâd eluded capture until then. Only a matter of time until someone discovered you, probably to chew you out, if they were even looking for you. That possibility hadnât occurred to you. Either way, knowing your boyfriend heâd be furious about how ridiculous you were being. It was just a doctorâs appointment after all. Youâd had what seemed like thousands of them, and hated every single one. You kept telling yourself this, your anxiety and deep rooted instinct to run, was all about the appointment, it certainly had nothing to do with your boyfriend⊠Your boyfriend that happened to be very affectionate even though his personality didnât tend to give off that cuddly vibe.
Youâd only been with Leonard for a few months, though youâd known him for years, and the two of you had been taking things, well slowly. For some reason you couldnât shake the feeling that it all was too good to be true anyway. The Leonard McCoy being with someone like you? It didnât seem real. And the further and further you fell for him, an uneasy feeling followed suit, growing and growing⊠The more you loved him the worse it would hurt when he left, just like everyone else.
You surely werenât dealing with it in the most mature way, but at the same time you just couldnât bring yourself to make it to that doctorâs appointment. You just couldnât face Leonard at the moment.
So, instead, you worked and forced all those jumbled worries out of your head. Only in short bursts though. You kept moving and finding other hiding spots, which led you to Scottyâs office of sorts in engineering just before lunchtime.
âY/N, lassie, how are ya? And what are you doing down here in lil old engineering?â Scotty greeted you happily the moment he strode up to you.
Youâd clearly stolen his chair and even had your feet up on the console, your own data pad over your lap. You smiled widely back. âJust thought I could use a change of scenery from the bridge, besides I missed you, Scotty!â
âGlad to hear it. Donât see enough of you these days!â The scotsman went about his work around you, motioning for you to stay where you were despite your protests. He had his own data pad in hand, reading it and then what looked like inputting data into the console. âHowâs everything up there? Oh, and your boyfriend, everyoneâs favorite doctor?â
Internally, you cringed, and willed yourself to disappear. Alas, it did not work and you were forced to answer Scottyâs question. âThe bridge is good⊠You know, nothing too exciting lately, or Iâm sure youâd be having a ball dealing with Jim pushing our lovely ship to the limits.â
While youâd certainly given a tactful and happy response, Scotty noticed your aversion to his second question. After all, the man knew you well, youâd spent years on the ship with him, even working in engineering for a while. âAnd is Dr. McCoy pushing you to your limits?â He asked with piqued interest and no small amount of concern.
You opened your mouth and shut it again, unsure exactly how to respond⊠You hadnât exactly spoken about your feelings with well anyone, that just so happened to be a least favorite pastime of yours.
âIt so happens, I donât kiss and tell, Scotty,â you finally responded, though slightly audibly strained. To conceal your vulnerability, you stood, giving him a wink, and left to find a new hiding spot.
âIâm here if you need, Y/N,â Scotty called after you, but made no attempt to follow your course.
~
âHey there,â a calming voice greeted out of nowhere. You even squeaked, jumping a little in your makeshift seat. But, your initial shock didnât fade as you knew you were caught, you wouldnât be able to hide any longer now that sheâd found you. A few people had to be looking for you at least. She wouldnât have left the bridge during the day otherwise, let alone to ventured to the recreational decks.
âHelloâŠâ
Uhura smiled and sat down on the floor next to you. âWhereâve you been today?â
âAround.â
âAvoiding your boyfriend you mean,â Uhura spoke straight to the point, not one to beat around the bush, âHe says you hate doctorâs appointments, but thereâs something more going on isnât there?â
You looked away from her, hugging your data pad to your chest. Again, talking about feelings, yuck. âI do hate doctors appointments and I especially donât want to have one todayâŠâ You swallowed, knowing fully well sheâd continue to press until she knew everything.
âAny specific reason why?â
In refusal to answer, you remained silent, eyes trained on your feet alone. Detaching yourself was just so much easier than facing those deep, dark fears.
âSweetheart,â she began and placed a gentle hand on your arm, âDid he do something? Do I need to throw him off the ship? You know I will.â Despite the softness in her voice, you knew her threats held weight with their own fierce undertones. The two of you had known each other for so long too, you were practically sisters, even went through the academy together.
You shook your head, letting your curled limbs fall against her. She took your head against her chest and calmly stroked your hair and shoulders, but didnât press any further, knowing youâd speak once you found the words.
With a shaky breath, you finally spoke aloud what had been internally tormenting you for weeks. âItâs stupid⊠I know Iâm being ridiculous, but⊠I just canât go. If only heâd rescheduled it for tomorrow.â
âWhat do you mean?â
âWell, heâs just going to leave me isnât he, so I need to stop getting so attached-â
âNow, thatâs insane. He adores you! You guys have known each other for so long, youâre just perfect together. We were all so glad when you two finally did something about it and stopped dancing around each other,â Uhura tried to assure you.
You pried yourself from her grasp and sat up, collecting your things. âNo, itâs just too good to be true,â you insisted, shaking your head as you retreated within the walls of your heart that youâd built up over the years.
While she called after you, you didnât stop and ran off to one of the less frequented turbo lifts to the labs, where you hoped you wouldnât find SpockâŠ
~
Luckily, you found no one else in the archives, quickly setting up shop on of the stations in the back, where you might be able to go unnoticed if someone so happened to enter.
Somehow, the person you least expected found you.
âFancy meeting you here, Y/N,â none other than James T. Kirk drawled from just inside the doorway, âCome here often?â
âOnly when I want to avoid you, Jim. Youâve found me out,â you relied sarcastically, making no move to collect your things.
He strolled over slowly, keeping his eyes intent on you, probably reading into your body language. âAw, and why would you want to avoid me, princess?â
âWhy wouldnât I?â
âBecause you love me, though not as much as you love Bones.â
You flinched at your boyfriend's nickname, refusing to meet the captainâs eyes as he finally stopped in front of you.
âItâs your anniversary today, isnât it? Three months, nice little milestoneâŠâ He frowned at your continued silence, reevaluating the banter. The two of you normally went back and forth easily, happily, both feeding off the otherâs witty remarks. Today he was met with different circumstances though. You clearly werenât up for playing, and that definitely signaled that something was wrong, very wrong. âY/N?â
Complying out of habit or professional duty, you glanced quickly up at his eyes and away once more.
âHeâs worried about you, really worried⊠I think he even had a surprise planned for you this morning, the anniversary and all.â
You frowned and swallowed slowly. âHeâs probably furious now.â
Kirk smiled a little at that. âHe is, but more worried. Iâm sure heâd love to talk about whatâs wrong and fix it.â
With a shake of your head and a mumble, you finally clued Jim in, your oldest and best friend. âHe canât fix it. Itâs me. I just canât stop thinking heâs going to leave, like everyone elseâŠâ
He reached across the workstation and placed his large hand over you small one. âHey, you canât think like that⊠Weâre so similar you know? We canât let ourselves open up to people, it takes a long ass time and it scares the shit out of us. Itâs just easier, not to mention safer, to be alone and shut yourself off. But, we canât be alone forever, whereâs the fun in that? Come on, look at me.â
When you finally brought your slightly teary eyes to his, he continued softly, âLeonard loves you and I know you love him. That should be all that matters. Besides, weâll all beat the shit out of him if he hurts you.â
You finally smiled faintly, offering a slight chuckle at your captainâs words. âOkay, Jim,â you sniffed and he squeezed your hand, âWhere is he?â
~
As you walked down the corridor to your quarters, you forced yourself to take deep breaths and focus on that feeling, not the distinct dread filling your gut. The closer you got to your room, the shakier you felt, and the tremors in your hands proved that. Youâd never been so nervous about such a silly conversation.
Once you reached your door, you about turned around and bolted away; only Jimâs words kept your feet rooted to the floor. You had to do this. Then, as if fate had a hand in it all, your door wooshed open with Leonard standing right in front of you.
You must have looked grave, or paler than normal, because Leonardâs face immediately fell and he pulled you inside. âOh, sweetheart, sit down, please. Are you alright?â He sat you down on your bed and kept trying to look you over before he sat down next to you.
âIâm fine,â you said with a deep sigh, which didnât help your case at all. âOkay, fine, Iâm not, Leonard,â you grumbled as he gave you his âI donât believe youâ look.
âThen, tell me whatâs wrong, please.â His eyes showed just how pleading his words were even if his voice didnât. They glinted nervously, with his own tide of dread swimming around in them.
âI⊠I freaked out, okay? You know how hard it is for me to open up to people. Itâs hard to put myself out there, and Iâve been scared that youâre going to leave me⊠You just matter so much to me, everyone always leaves, I canâtâŠâ
Leonard waited patiently for you to say everything you wanted, and he took your hand the moment your voice broke the first time, squeezing it tightly with both of his as the tears pooled in your eyes.
âI know Iâm being ridiculous, but with today as our anniversary. I couldnât make the appointment.â
Without a word, several moments after youâd finished speaking, Leonard took your face gently in his hands and pressed his forehead against yours, his eyes falling shut. âI am never, never going to leave you, Y/N. I know weâve only been dating technically for three months, but I canât imagine my life without you after all these years that Iâve known you. I think I knew a while ago, youâre it for me. I love you so much. Iâll never love anyone like I love you. And that scares the shit out of me too, youâre not the only one. Believe me. I wouldnât have it any other way though, so please donât push me away.â His voice was gentler and sweeter than youâd ever heard it and that made your insides melt.
When he pulled away too look at you directly, verifying that heâd gotten through to you, you brought your lips to his without a moment of hesitation. He kissed back gratefully, wrapping his arms around you tightly.
âI donât want to push you away. Iâm sorry⊠I love you too,â you mumbled into his neck once you disconnected lips.
âAnd good lord woman, donât scare me like that again,â he murmured sternly.
You laughed allowed unable to help yourself, which only made him grin, chuckling too, until he silenced you with a kiss. Were doctorâs appointments really something to be afraid of?
