I am in a kind of writing (and feeling) funk lately, so I want to do a little gift exchange.
I will keep reblogging this (and maybe make another post for better view) - so people keep seeing it. I'm familiar with the fandoms of Haikyuu, Naruto, MHA and Knb, and to some extent, blk, one piece, and wind breaker (you can go my by masterlist). I have been getting into the Mentalist, The Pitt and Project Hail Mary lately, but I don't know if I could write for it. But as a gift... who knows?
I don't do anonymous asks anymore, because I need to have someone on the other end of the ask to talk to if I need more questions, but I'd love it if you just sent in an ask for a gift. I love giving gifts. Okay?
"Did you grab your umbrella?" Hajime asks from the kitchen, travel mugs filled with coffee in both hands.
"Course," you wave them around, the small one with the kitten design he got you on a whim last spring and the much bigger one with the official logo of his workplace. "You think it's going to rain?"
"It said so," is his answer, leaning in for a kiss before slipping on his shoes.
It does not rain that day.

Tuesday...
"I packed your umbrella," Hajime mutters into your ear. He always leaves a little earlier on Tuesdays, and his breath tickles the shell of your ear as he leans in once more. "Can I have a goodbye kiss?"
You roll into his arms, a little annoyed at being woken up this early, and a little annoyed that he has to leave already.
"You taste like bacon," you mutter, pulling him in for another kiss. "Did you leave me some?"
"Course."
The faint drizzle that starts around lunchtime passes by before you get to leave work again, painting the streets a shade darker and leaving little drops like diamonds in its wake.

Wednesday...
"You forgot your umbrella," Hajime points out when you meet him for lunch.
"Oh," you blink, looking down at your bag. "True. It must be back at work."
"You want to take mine?"
"No need," you assure him. "It's only a few steps from the subway station. Even if it rains, I'd make it just fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes," you laugh at his worries. "Remember that we used to dance in the rain? What happened to us?"
"We got old," Hajime jokes. "Last time you got caught in the rain, you got a cold."
"That's not true," you defend yourself. "I had a cold, and then we got caught in the rain when we went out for a candy run."
"Sorry, sorry," he holds up his hands like he's begging for his life, but he's grinning, easy and playful, the way you love him the most. "I promise not to bug you about your umbrella again."
"Thank you." You grab the menu from the table and glance down at it. "How about just dessert? I'm in the mood for something sweet."

Thursday...
"Did you grab your-" Hajime corrects himself midsentence, "Kiss?"
"No," You gasp. "How could I forget?" You grab him by the shoulders and smack your lips against his. "Another one for the road?"
"Yes, please." He giggles at your antics. "Training is going to run late today. Do you want to come get me?"
"Mhm, do you? I could get started on dinner instead and do the laundry."
"Phew, you drive a hard bargain." Hajime leans further into your hold. "I'll ask one of the boys to drive me, then."
"Great idea. Make them work for their money."
"Driving their Coach isn't exactly what they're being paid for."
"You need to change their contract then," you tell him, slipping in one last kiss before you have to part ways. "Love you."
"Love you more."
"Love you most."

Friday...
The air is blissfully cool inside the small store down the road from your apartment. Slowly, but surely, your body adjusts to the new environment. You shuffle a little closer to Hajime, who seems deep in thought over his choice of vegetables for next week. Now that you're no longer sweating out of every pore, you long for his presence again, sliding your hand into his.
"Cooled down?" He asks, without breaking eye contact with the cucumbers. "Mhm." You lean into him. "Can we get ice cream?"
"Sure. Do you wanna go and grab the flavors while I take my time deciding here?"
"No," you swing your joined arms up to press a kiss to the back of his hand. "Later."
Hajime smiles. Pulls you a little closer. Drops a kiss onto the top of your head. "Cucumbers?"
"Sure."
He sighs. "You're not helping if you agree to everything I say."

You've grown a little cold by the time you make it to the register, almost looking forward to the heat outside. There's a display of umbrellas, and you chuckle at their designs, putting everything into bags while Hajime pays.
"Let me carry it," he asks, but you stick your tongue out at him and press one of the bags close to your chest. "The ice cream is mine," you defend it, and he laughs, putting his free arm around your shoulders to pull you forward.
At first, you think you're imagining it. That first drop of rain hitting your shoulder. But the next follows shortly after, fat drops of water, warm from the blistering sun. You look at Hajime in shock. Neither of you carries an umbrella, just the bags of groceries and the essentials.
"We could..." He clears his throat awkwardly. "Make a run for it?"
The store is just a few steps behind you. You could get an umbrella or wait out the rain inside. But where would be the fun in that?"
"Loser has to make dinner!" You announce, taking off to the sound of your flip-flops hitting the ground. Laughter spills from your lips like the rain from the clouds.
You're drenched before you've made it down the street, but there's a sweetness to it, coming home like that, breathless and laughing, together.
