Okay, for the ship thing, I really wanna know about boasami. and also I'd love to hear some ranting about icemav :)
boasami (the legend of korra)
1) What made you ship it?
i remember thinking throughout the entire first season that bolin and asami both deserved better after the way they were treated by korra and mako respectively. the ship kinda hit me out of nowhere after the last two episodes of season 1, where bolin and asami were paired together a lot and bolin even saved asami from her father's mecha tanks. at first i shipped them in a pair the spares sort of way, but during the hiatus between s1 and s2 i realized i really liked their dynamic - and the fact that after everything in the entire season, they looked happiest around each other. s2 gave me So Much Vindication and So Much Content - and then they introduced opal in s3 and everything went downhill from there.
2) What are your favorite things about the ship?
bolin makes asami smile!!! asami respects bolin's opinions and feelings!!! he doesn't have to be the Token Comic Relief around her and can be more serious!!! the entire 'a natural assistant' scene!!! they have fun together!!! he comforts her when she needs it the most!!!! i'm STILL livid that their dynamic got phased out as the show continued just so the writers could push endgame korrasami and bopal. like you built this great friendship and then pushed it aside for zero reason???? @ bryke turn on your location i just want to talk.
3) Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
the fact that i am a proponent of its existence is probably the most unpopular boasami opinion ever lmao. even in its heyday during the pre-korrasami years the fandom consisted of me and like two writers tops.

1) What made you ship it?
literally every single scene they appear in together, but ESPECIALLY their introductions in the bar (that much sexual tension should be Illegal) and the scene where ice offers his condolences after goose's death. by the time they said they'd be each other's wingmen anytime i was doodling their wedding invitations lmao.
2) What are your favorite things about the ship?
okay look metric fuckload of sexual tension aside - they just really like each other!! they respect each other!! they have a great banter and really understand how the other ticks. the wingman hug is probably my favorite thing because like......look at their smiles!!! it's the first time ice has genuinely smiled in the entire film!! it's the first time mav has smiled at all since goose's death!!! So Many Feels. if i don't get a wingman hug callback in TG2 i'm suing christopher mcquarrie for emotional damages.
3) Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
the fandom seems to be split 50/50 on this one, but i prefer mav to be the submissive one if they're doing the d/s thing. other than that my opinions pretty much align with the common fandom consensus.
