#avatar: the last airbender#atlaedit#the legend of korra#tlokedit#avatar aang: the last airbender#movieedit#mine#atla#avatar#the way the movie deals with aang's grief and despair about the loss of his people made the moments in korra hit even harder#love that it's something that aang continue to deal with later in life (as happens when you're older. history comes to bite you)#and that he needs to forgive himself for leaving. even if he were to be there it's no certainty he would have survived.#the fire nation would have continued to find other nation's avatars to get rid off#and the fact that aang needed to confront his desire of bringing them back. he must have found that so difficult his entire life#hope he let that go as a personal responsibility at some point. he needed to trust that in the future an avatar would maybe do so#and then korra bringing them back and also doing that at the traumatic levels that she did.#she risked her life to do so. what a woman#god this movie just made me even more emotional about that connection between aang and korra (esp since they were disconnected from e/o)#idk to make a movie about the sole survivor of a genocide in this day and age is very poignant#(shout out to jeremy zuckerman's score on this. both of these lower 2 moments have the most beautiful scores of the entire verse)
