MY* TOP 5 DCI FINALISTS
*these are my options! Iāve seen ppl get very pressed abt warring fav bands and I am asking to please be kind. If you liked a different band better, thatās great! They all did wonderfully and everyone has different tastes for shows! These are just my favorites!
1 - Carolina Crown - Point Of No Return
Thereās so much I could say about this show, but I donāt want this to be ten hours long so Iāll try to keep it short. I tend to like more āaction/story-orientedā shows better than those just based off of a loss concept, if that makes sense? I thought the tall entity thing chasing the wind player around (which Iāve read is meant to represent fate catching up to a person ? If so thatās so so cool!) was sick! Huge props to the costume designers for that one. I loved the camera angles in the finale sm. One of my fav matching shows Iāve seen in a while.
2 - Blue Devils - Variations on a gathering
It was very vibey at the beginning! Their drumline was SO talented I was shocked lol. Iām gonna be so honest though I couldnāt really figure out their show concept which docked a point or two on my book lol.
3 - Boston Crusaders - BOOM!
The winners at number three??? A disgrace! Lol. I really donāt have much to say thoā¦. The brass and percussion sections were going SO HARD on this one. Iām proud of them, they earned this win definitely.
4 - Phantom Regiment - iā¦ did not catch their show name somehow lol
A very pretty show! I loved the props and the concept, I thoroughly enjoyed it!
5 - Troopers - The Final Sunset
This might be the hottest take on hereā¦ I really really enjoyed this show yall. It was such a sweet tribute, and the emotion on all the performers faces really got to me (we lost one of our band directors to suicide last year, so maybe thatās why a marching show like this resonated so much with me). I understand and respect the judges opinions, but the emotional impact pushed it up a lot for me.
