This one is for my country. I still believe in The United States of America and the promise of Life, Liberty, & and The Pursuit of Happiness in this Great land.

(..I guess that settles the ol' debate on 'who wore it better' that year; "Strawberry Soup"; sorry, Blue Devils, still love ya)

This is Totally one of my ALL-TIME Favorite shows by Madison. This one is for anyone who knows what it feels like to march in the rain (something that has happened more than once in my time; an incredible experience if you get to experience it in your life, although I'm sure Colorguard folks would probably disagree entirely [hahaha]).

(Fun Fact: I totally got to march/play "Korean Folk Song" in my high school marching band [GO, Cypress Creek!] during my junior year in high school. Without going into it, super stressful year [I filmed two independent movies that year; one that fell through and another that didn't], our marching band program had to rebuild that year because our previous Directors had left [which was beyond disheartening & frustrating considering all of the hard work that had been put forth the previous couple of years]. Needless to say, I almost quit marching band that year (which is saying A LOT since I'm not a quitter) because it was so awful being in an organization that was SO strong the year before, just for it to succumb to the struggles of potentially falling apart altogether [not exaggerating]. It was the second time my high school marching band almost did not exist [even posing a threat towards the music program itself].

So, here's to "Korean Folk Song" because it was probably the ONLY thing that kept me from jumping off a bridge in my junior year of high school [...That, and..... There aren't too many bridges in Florida. ...So.. there's that.]. I actually liked our version better than The Cavies version; much more EXCITING in my humble opinion; more heart; by the way I was NOT the baritone that was sticking out in the end of the closer in the show - I know who it was but I'm not gonna say any names because it was years ago, but I just thought folks should know because I was ALWAYS BEING CALLED OUT FOR BEING TOO LOUD; I swear it was not me. I always knew when to back off during performances].
