While it’s 3 sleeps to Bee Inspired, it’s also only 5 sleeps to @blogonuk Blogon is a blogging conference I’ve been attending for the past 5? Years. I’ve been to many blogging events but blogon is by far the most friendly. In the past I’ve stayed quite quiet at the conference, while others went out to the nightclubs, stayed at the after party until late I would head back to the hotel room opting for a late night pizza & some trashy tv. In the past I’ve felt like I didn’t fit in because I don’t drink, because I’m a bit of an introvert. This year I put my hand up to offer a to speak to deliver a workshop. This year I won’t be hiding behind a flurry of confetti or otherwise. This year I’m really excited & honoured to be on the other side of the table. I still won’t be heading to the nightclub or drinking a gallen of gin. The next 7 days involves last min prep for two big events and lots and lots of self care. Oh and dodging the dreaded virus. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Bee inspired starts this time next week with some flipping incredible speakers that I’m so honoured, excited & terrified to be a part of. All that speaker training, all those tears shed and now we are in the last furlong. Then it’s blogon. The event that has given me so much over the years. And that’s without the goody bags! These two often don’t realise how lucky they are. In fact I think a lot of us take our circumstances for granted. We live near a charity shop that raises funds for children in Kenya. My ultimate goal in my head for when all the kids are a little older is to take them to Kenya so they can see for themselves just how much we have in our lives. When I come back from events like @blogonuk I sometimes feel guilty for all the goody bag stuff. I’ve said how I’m trying to declutter and live more simply. Which is why I’ll be donating anything out of my goodie bag that we have no use for.
