If, as the Sergeant once suggested, that the only thing keeping them alive was hate,
why did the Sergeant refuse to reincarnate during ‘First of the Infinity Knights’?

I wish the Corporation weren’t so litigious about all things related to the programme.
Fan-made films could fill a need the fan base have for fresh ideas whilst we await decisions to be taken (especially on the tender process).
Now, newly installed BTV Controller Dan Innes says that ‘resting’ Inspector Spacetime will
make for a better programme, once production restarts … which could be years from now.
Aidan died so many times that he lost count (yet retained memories of each death),
mostly because the Cosmos enjoyed yanking his chain for its own entertainment.
Hello there! What are Mary Sue Brown’s companions’ personalities and roles? And what daring plot twists and tragic sacrifices were made in Mary Sue Brown’s Adventures?
Hello, again! Yes, so Mary Sue had four Associates during her turn as the protagonist of her self-titled series: Clive Kurtzmann, Kali Mahindri, Carla Salmon and Lucy Watson.
Clive was the basic jerk with a heart of gold. He tended to be self-involved, somewhat narcissistic and oblivious to nuance, but he did the right thing, especially when it came to the ladies, protecting them as best he could
Kali was the clever one, the one who always came up with the right information when it was needed and figured out the tricks and traps that the group's nemeses devised in an attempt to stop them interfering with the aliens' plots to conquer the Earth.
Carla was the classic ditz, always stumbling into trouble (if not simply running towards it), triggering traps that she should have seen coming, and occasionally foiling the enemies' plots by pure accident. Still, she was the most loyal of companions that Mary Sue could have had.
I think I've answered your question about Lucy, but since I've already done an overview of Mary Sue's other Associates, I'll include her description, too. Lucy was the badarse action girl that could take on whatever danger threatened the team, and especially Mary Sue. She could be a bit clingy with any of her friends and her 'stepmother', but she always knew when to step back and when to charge at someone. Brave heart, she was.
Thanks again for the question! I'm happy to answer any others you may have.

This blog is awesome thank you for maintaining it
Thank you! Always enjoy keeping it going.
To some extent, it’s understandable that some viewers see the Inspector as being dragged around by the cosmos, doing its bidding against their will.
But then, the Inspector has some control over when and where they travel, regardless of what the BOOTH reckons.
Creepy and effective,
the flying squids from ‘Moon of the Living’ were a downright terrifying sight.
It was never explained how W.I.T. had acquired the Intrepid.
Nor was it shown the sky-fortress’s ultimate fate, other than not being present since it appeared in ‘The Tooting of the Horns’.
Major reasons why the fans were upset with show runner Pat Bacall were
his massively retconning the Inspector’s backstory as well as killing off the entirety of Infinity Knights (even off-screen ones) for bombast, without either having much impact upon the overall series.

For as long a lived programme as Inspector Spacetime is,
there have only been two periods during which fans tuned out in large numbers, threatening the programme’s future each time.
If the BOOTH were subjected to a transformation ray that failed part way through its process,
what would happen to her, and would she still be able to transport the Inspector et alia to other points in space and time?
If the BOOTH ever passed through dark matter,
it might end up with the Inspector and their Associates swapping bodies.
It probably would’ve made sense (even in context) for an Infinity Knight execution system to assume the condemned will be finished for good,
rather than force someone to watch over the executed for 10.000 years, as the Inspector was assigned to do for Sissy, upon her (failed) execution.
In the Classic Series, Infinity Knights (mainly the guards) carried flasers (finality lasers) that could kill another Infinity Knight and prevent their reincarnation with a single shot.
It was intended to make the Infinity Knights that much more threatening, especially to the Inspector.

I reckon it’s primarily because of budgetary limitations that
there has never been a Big Bad who, once defeated by the Inspector, causes their massive lair to collapse down upon everyone, only for the Inspector and their Associates to escape unharmed.
What if the Inspector were to receive a warning message from a future (or forgotten past) incarnation to kick off an adventure?
That could produce one of the more complicated series arcs in the programme’s history.
