Blade Runner (1982)
==============
🌟 The X-MEN of Science: 🧬🔬 GENETICALLY ENGINEERED HUMANS
In our changing world, signs are pointing to the imminent arrival of genetically engineered humans. Similar to Blade Runner's Replicants, these beings mix artificial intelligence (AI) with bioengineering, blurring the line between human and machine… they have advanced cognitive abilities, emotions, and physical skills.
The term "genetically engineered humans" emphasizes the replication of human qualities through a blend of AI and bioengineering.
Imagine a future where head transplants, synthetic organs, and bionic eyes become integral parts of human augmentation.
The fusion of cutting-edge medical technologies with genetic programming is reshaping our understanding of what it means to be human.
On that note where are all my cyborgs at this wonderful Disabilty Pride Month? I'm talking about those of us with brain shunts, with insulin pumps, with prosthetics that need charging, bionic eyes, implants that control seizures, pace makers, anything that makes Luddite philosophers and eugenicists and those who scream about the natural order of things AFRAID when they realize these kinds of things aren't in some futuristic sci-fi transhumanist horror story that's a metaphor for "natural" human resilience but something that is happening RIGHT NOW to REAL LIVING PEOPLE and we are alive and THRIVING by this wonderful technology yet constantly afraid of this technology we're dependent on no longer being supported by the for-profit companies that make it or the technology being damaged or medical or tech infrastructure going down in the supposed revolution because not even the leftists think about us.
Anyway, here's on for us! 🤖

Rough schematics for Ian’s prosthetic right eye!!
Severe burns to one side of his body eventually resulted in Ian meshing with advanced/magic infused technology. His eye being an example of this and last to install during a major surgical surgery that would significantly improve his quality of life. The procedure involved removal of his bad eye blinded by flame and infection. Bone and skin grafts followed to try to repair as much of the damaged area as possible but much of the scar tissue remains. Thin metal plates cover the remainder and replace unfixable bone while creating a new artificial socket for housing a direct neural to optical nerve connection. His lid and and brow areas were partially rebuilt to still control a pair of lens shutters via weak electrical signals from these tiny muscle contractions.
There is another layer that magnetizes to the base facial plate to cover the exposed wiring. When Ian removes his eye before bed he attaches a solid protective cap in place of it instead. The plate also attaches to his ocular piece via shock absorbing prongs to minimize vibrations that may affect overall function of the complete eye piece. Ian has modifiers that can be placed in the gaps above and below the socket. These include locks so the eye stays open/closed, scanners providing real time data that projects within the clear cover, and Infrared capabilities.
The removable optical unit itself possesses a light sensor, a small light bulb to help with night vision, and LED strips with UV and visible lights. These can help Ian gather more information others are unable to as readily or provide dim ambient light while working in the dark.

"I think in about 10 years, we should see some very tangible practical applications of these bionic eyes," Hongrui Jiang, an electrical engineer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison who was not involved in the research, told Scientific American.
Researchers say they've created a proof-of-concept bionic eye that could surpass the sensitivity of a human one.
"In the future, we can use this for better vision prostheses and humanoid robotics," researcher Zhiyong Fan, at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, told Science News.
The eye, as detailed in a paper published in the prestigious journal Nature today, is in essence a three-dimensional artificial retina that features a highly dense array of extremely light-sensitive nanowires.
The team, led by Fan, lined a curved aluminum oxide membrane with tiny sensors made of perovskite, a light-sensitive material that's been used in solar cells.
Wires that mimic the brain's visual cortex relay the visual information gathered by these sensors to a computer for processing.
The nanowires are so sensitive they could surpass the optical wavelength range of the human eye, allowing it to respond to 800 nanometer wavelengths, the threshold between visual light and infrared radiation.
That means it could see things in the dark when the human eye can no longer keep up.

If you don't mind me asking, I'm curious to know why Ruby hates her cyborg eye in the Eye for an eye AU?
Hey there! So, long story short.
Cinder wanted Ruby's eye for herself, having the silver eyes powers, the maidens and the grimm, she would become the ultimate villian. Ruby knew that, so she let her, having faith that all of that power will kill her, like a short circuit, and finally was something like that. The other part of the team take the bad guys plus Ruby and get away from there. Ruby fell asleep with all the blood lost. In Atlas, and they thought it would be a waste to lose a huntress like Ruby so they gave her the bionic eye so she could fight like always. When Ruby woke up, she looked in the mirror, and realized that this eye was not hers, not the one she had inherited from her mother. She felt dirty and guilty for losing it. Weiss gave her the patch to remind her of what she lost, and that her mother will be always with her. She doesnt take the patch off if theres is nothing to fight, and prefer keeping it hide from others. and she think the scar is kinda cool and its in the same side than Weiss so they match.
Uff, thanks god it was short, I hope you like it. (Damn english, don't kill me)
