Fake Net Neutrality bills and Strongly Worded Letters
Sooo while weâre still calling for that last vote on the CRA act. Thereâs another positive action that we can take. Also, yes I know we may not get that last vote in time this coming Mon, but itâll be a long while before you start to see any changes on the internet, so before then, prepare yourself for another fight. We have time to plan our next move. (Check out my previous posts under the ânet neutralityâ tag on this blog to see what else you can do.)Â
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Iâve made a point of some of these in previous posts but I wanted to clarify some things.
Some States have taken this opportunity to pass Net Neutrality bills of their own to defy the FCC, and thatâs really good. Real good. But some states, like South Carolina have very faulty ones. By faulty, I mean with enough loopholes to get Telecom corps to bypass. We have to keep those States in mind and spread the word and support them since all or most of their reps are already bought out because again, I stress itâs important that we all stick together and help out.Â
If those states, like South Carolina, passes those fake Net Neutrality bills, whatâs stopping other states from trying to do the same thing?? Research your reps carefully, and take time to do some research on your States proposed Net Neutrality bill. Ask if you need help. The more we get well-written Net Neutrality laws, the better. And take the time to do some shout-outs to spread the word for States trying to get their own Net Neutrality passed and States trying to fight their fake Net Neutrality laws. Whether itâs by whatever we have left online, you writing a report about it, or if youâre just telling a friend. Anything to get the word out. Donât let yourselves be censored. Everyone is in the same boat, if you were in their situation wouldnât you want others to help out?  Â
Shout out to Colorado, Hawaii, Montana, Indiana, and I think Missouri for being the next States to give their own Net Neutrality laws! *CLAPS* (If Iâm missing anyone, do let me know.)
And shout out to South Carolina again, Sen. Lindsey Graham, Governor Henry McMaster, and Attorney General Alan Wilson, were all bought off by telecom corps. They got an awful Net Neutrality bill...Â
(The first link is South Carolinaâs Net Neutrality bill, if your States Net Neutrality bill looks like this, take note of this bill and of Marsha Blackburnâs fake Net Neutrality bill. Donât fall for it.)

(The last link is about Gov. Henry McMasters slandering students for a peaceful protest of the Parkland shooting. While it may not have anything to do with Net Neutrality, it shows you the kind of character this man has.)
(Credit goes to @empressreborn for providing me links and @timeclonemike for his deconstruction of South Carolinaâs fake Net Neutrality bill. )
If you have proof that your reps were bought off; provide their names, office numbers, and links to those proofs and spread the word. It can be links about an invasion of your privacy or links that they are against Net Neutrality. We want to make them look bad and pressure them. But please donât threaten their families and make sure those links are credible. We want to win this war without any potential room for repercussions.Â

Of course, some of you are probably thinking, âThis wouldnât be an issue if we just get the CRA act passed and win Net Neutrality for all, right?â well, that seems to be what Evan Greer from FFTF and BFTN seems to be doing. Iâm not slandering these groups. By all means, we should still support them for helping us win back Net Neutrality. But they arenât focused on the threats of fake Net Neutrality bills since their hands are tied at the moment. So what to do?
1) We need to prepare for the worst. We need to step up ourselves and not expect them to do all the work for us. Continue to shout out other States and lend a hand to States facing fake Net Neutrality bills. But still attempt to email FFTF and similar non-profit groups and ask them to help out your State just to have more people know whatâs going on.Â
2) Even if we do win Net Neutrality for all, itâs important to remember the people that sold you out, theyâre still out there walking scotch-free. Theyâre still in that position of power that supposedly ârepresentsâ you. So remember these bastards and vote them out in November. All of them. Donât be lazy and forget to do it just because you think your life is over without free internet. If you let them get re-elected, they could very well be bought off again and target this time your-oh say-cell phone service or something.   Â
