danse haters only dislike him because the fandom likes to overly simplify his character as "just a bigoted, facist bos soldier", completely ignoring the small details you see in him during your travels w/ him that makes him more than just that, as well as ignoring that his character arc after BB is a great potential that bethesda wasted
As a Danse 💖simp💖 I can see both ways, however I do agree that people who just simplify his character as just the soilder type that Bethesda wrote him ass clearly hasn’t run with him/are their least used companion, don’t see his character as whole, (like how he like country music and details like that)
On the other hand I can see why they think this, as Bethesda is just ✨amazing✨ at fleshing out full character arcs and character changes (this is completely sarcastic as they have shown time and time again them wasting great material, as anon stated)
Honestly I just think Danse haters only dislike him because they haven’t gave him a full chance to explore his character and travel with him. Yes there is some shit that man says, but if we can all headcanon that Bethesda did the work and fleshed out his character after BB, I think people would try and run with him.
