AM I FUCKING TWEAKING!?
so on the wiki, it specifically states "The reason being as we learn in The Consequence, is that both shared a similar traumatic experience. Leslie saw his parents murdered in front of him, while Ruvik lost his sister." in regards to leslie being compatible with ruvik. I have SCOURED the wikis, research documents, and other stuff from the consequence and I can't find a SINGLE ENTRY that SPECIFICALLY STATES that it was the trauma. In the MAIN GAME, we see this cutscene:
Subjects history case cites developmental delays; indicates issues with communication, social cognition, repetitive behaviors. Signs of synesthesia reported, genealogy suggests increased susceptibility to external stimuli; pattern adaptiveness...could you be what I've been looking for all these years? And right under my own nose? Unbelievable. There can be no mistake. This one is...compatible. Ruvik here is basically giving a roundabout "Patient is on the spectrum" speech. And like even in 2014 it was p cringe to just slap mental diagnoses on characters which is probably why they do this, as well as the documents where ruvik recalls seeing laura standing at the end of the hallway but never explicitly states what caused it other than trauma.
And all the sources I look for to confirm it is shared trauma cite this specific research document from the consequence (Even the wiki cites it) Today was something truly surprising. He was one of the last groups of test subjects... Just another patient I expected to babble and maybe even die. Patient 105: Leslie Withers. Ruben had singled him out as a useless subject... but he must have known. He knew I would read his notes. What else was Ruben lying to me about? But this Leslie... he emerged cognant, calm, and able to report fully what he'd experienced inside. His unique pathology allowed him to successfully navigate his STEM experience with little repercussion. They know nothing of his existence, but no doubt he is the key. If we all share the consciousness, then with him I too should be able to experience the STEM, potentially even suppress the more unsavory aspects of it. With him I can be the master of the very technology I helped create. Mobius will see my worth and let me rise even higher in their ranks. NOWHERE DOES IT SAY THEY HAVE SHARED TRAUMA!?!?! AM I LOSING IT?? IS THERE A PART OF THE EVIL WITHIN I DON'T KNOW??? AND IS ANYONE WILLING TO TELL ME WHERE I CAN FIND THIS INFORMATION???? Is Leslie compatible because of shared trauma!?
Or is he compatible because he's a broken autistic man who don't got much fight left in him? Is that why Juli said his mind could eventually reject him? Because after being released from beacon and capable of roaming the world the symptoms of rigidity would return and his mind will eventually sub-consciously push him out cuz he don't belong there? Like idk what y'alls experience is with autism but I experience a hefty amount of ridigity and refusal to try new things in my day-to-day, and like I'm kinda pulling from that experience and sorta trying to fit it in, i mean it makes more sense to me tbh. Once leslie is removed from the traumatic enviornment his brain can take time to heal and after a while he might regain a baseline that he didn't have at beacon making it significantly more difficult for ruvik because trauma DOES change and affect brainwaves and since leslie was in an ongoing, complex trauma loop being stuck at beacon that could have made him compatible with ruvik/made his brain malleable enough for him to worm his way in, but once he's removed from beacon and the traumatic situation he can be allowed at least some peace? Like? And i'd assume when ruviks in control he's not really conscious or there so if ruviks in control 24/7, Leslie's consciousness is given time to mend itself which could be smn ruvik didn't account for?
That’s so the evil within coded that I might buy it despite not wanting to have any Lego at my house
Idky I torture myself like this
I'm animating it in krita 😞
