Bemusement isn't "extra amusement".

It's puzzlement, bewilderment, confusion.

We did not switch last night, yet I am present and have been present for hours with no regard of whether or not I fall in and out of consciousness. This is strange; this has never occurred until now. It would be logical if we performed a switch before resting; I was not present the time before Ryleigh began to slumber as well. This baffles me. My host is still present and not dormant; I am grateful for that.

What is the reason for this circumstance? Why did I become conscious first prior to my host? We did not lucid dream, we did not switch that day, and my host did not awake until hours after I had already gained control of the body. This bemusement, this lack of understanding irks me.
