Harper slipped on Teddy's Letterman, leaving him and Stace chatting at the pump, Gory a ball on the backseat, head buried in his jacket, then wandered into the storefront where Moth was wasting quarters on the pinball machine and a group of giggling girls flirted with the boy behind the counter. In the back, a grandpa in overalls poured a cup of bitter coffee from a burnt pot, and a mother slouched against the wall outside the restrooms, two dinosaur-patterned backpacks at her feet.
Fingers gliding over the selection of fruit pies and snack cakes on her lazy meander, Harper tracked the customers in the security mirror and caught the eyes of the gas jockey glancing over the heads of his fan club. She smiled, all teeth and tongue, and pulled two cherry pies from the shelf. When he winked and the girls stole his attention again, she pocketed a couple others.
"Naughty."
Moth draped himself over her shoulders, standing on his tiptoes and snickering against her neck when she shrugged.
"And would it kill someone to have the cinnamon in stock?" he complained before grabbing a bag of powdered sugar Sweet Sixteens.
"Maybe," Harper laughed. "Chocolate's the best, though."

I know that I’m not posting as much as I used to, and I would like to apologize for that. I used to update each of my multi-chapters twice a week, and now I barely manage to update all three once a week.
