It's not to work until you eventually keel over and die. It's not to achieve your goals through the exploitation of others and dubious shortcuts and special treatment. It's to learn something new every day for the duration of your soul's stay here on Earth. Read books often; read the classics, and read the modern literature that had just been published and placed on the bookshelves of libraries and book stores. Have a group of friends that can teach you new things, and you can teach them something as well. During the times you do work, you should take some enjoyment out of it, and your boss should be an understanding and kind leader, not an exploitative traitor to the common person. You should be able to work as easily as possible while earning enough to live a comfortable and fulfilling life. This is what capitalism fails to provide. There is no ideal, comfortable life for a working class individual under capitalism, only struggle and the constant fear of being disenfranchised. The purpose of living is greatly corrupted by the exaggeration of the definition of "work ethic", and overworking is seen as honorable, while supplemental and mindful enrichment are frowned upon in favor of profitability. Under capitalism, we have a greatly skewed version of life's purpose and what success really is.
