I submit the following: Shiro's Bayard? An arm, chain scythe or morning star-style whip. Kuron's Bayard however? Javelin/Spear or a holster of thrown weapons.
you know, Iām going to go a little off track for a second here and I apologize in advance because figuring out bayards is serious stuff (and fun)
but you mention Kuron/Jiroās bayard being something that he throws, meaning, something that he yeets away from himself and, short of boomerangs, thatās not usually something you get back.Ā Which, can totally be wiggle room because its a bayard and thereās no reason it canāt either swing back around to him or else reappear in his hand at need given the bayards seem to be pure energy to matter as needed considering they seem to be stored in the light strip on the paladinās thigh armor.
but now Iām going to rabbit because yeeting important things away reminds me that at one point Voltron literally SHOT PIDGE AT SOMEONE ie. detatched Greenās head and shot it at Lotor (I think?) and just - yes, I get that the TOY does that but watching them literally THROW Pidge at someone in canon -
sometimes I think most of the later episodes were fever dreams we all dreamed together.
From time to time I see people still saying that we never saw Lanceās Altean broadsword again after season 5ā¦ but to be honest, this is not true?Ā
In season 8 episode 9 āKnights of Light ā Part 1ā, Lance does use it again! It happens during the fight with corrupted King Alfor!Ā Hereās the scene, followed by screenshots where his bayardās form is clearly visible:

And yes, actually both the red paladins are using an Altean broadsword at this point! Personally, I think it was a really cool detail of the conflict.

i just saw a post with screencaps pointing out how in episode 5 when the paladins materialize their bayards, pidges and hunks glow the bayard colour (green and yellow) but in the same scene, keith materializes the black bayard but it glows red and lance materializes the red bayard but it glows blue. its like the little things are pointing to them not being in the right lions?????

Ok I know I literally never post but....
I noticed something about Lanceās new Bayard.
So yes its the Altean long sword, the same as what Alluras father wielded.
I noticed in a few gifs from the reveal scene that the hilt is nothing like any of the other Bayards.
Like, hear me out for a few minutes! Iāve check with all the others and they all have the standard Bayard shape for the hand hold placement.
Even when Zarkon still has the black Paladin Bayard it has the same structure. Now I was watching this gif
(I couldnāt find the actual gif I saw but this still works)
and BOTH of the hand hold are different shapes. Lance is the only one so far to have unblocked multiply weapons as well as from different classes of weapon type.
Now I have no idea where Iām headed with this but just wanted to point it out. Like I donāt know if itās because they arenāt the standard weapon they started with or if it means something more.
