Lance convinced—I mean heavily encouraged—me to make a blog. So here I am!

I’ll probably post pictures of things now and then, maybe make this like a.. digital journal of sorts?

Yeah! So you can definitely expect photos, mostly of my hobbies, maybe some projects and stuff.

And the occasional memes… maybe more than occasional.

Hunk also talks about his family and all the different dishes he used to eat on earth with Yellow. Anyways, I headcanon his family being descendants of African American slaves. I feel like after the Balmera episode, he talks to Yellow about how he feels about the Balmerans and connecting it to his own family history. He talks about how he’s improving with his stomach. All that. He talks about the food and Yellow gets jealous. Hunk tells Yellow how he’s asking Pidge to make all the Lions stomachs of some kind to allow them to eat and taste food.

Pidge talks to Green about technology obviously. I feel like they also talk about being nonbinary/genderfluid. I personally like to headcanon Pidge is a demigirl. So she/they pronouns for her. I think that’s how it works. Feel free to yell at me if wrong. It’s deserved. But anyways, Pidge also talks about Matt and their father. They love talking about the Alkari after the Alkari episode. She often asks questions to Green about why she chose them. She also asks about ideas Green has as well.

Lance talks about how he misses his family. His thoughts on Allura. And he talks about Keith, duh. I feel like he’s more angsty with Blue, but with Red, with Red, I think he more talks about Keith and maybe his own trauma of dying. I feel like he just assumes Keith also talked about his trauma to Red given how “emo” Keith was, so he tries to talk to Red about his trauma trying to emulate Keith since Keith and Red had such a strong bond. Lance feels like he should do the same.

Shiro can rant with Black. He cracks jokes and reminisces with Black. He has gossips with Black about some of the wild stuff team voltron did. Black is just what the mice are to Allura really. He also talks about and asks questions about Zarkon. He often actually goes in and sees what Daibazaal was like. I don’t know how to spell it. Corrections are welcome btw. After he learns Keith’s Galra side, Shiro often asks for a day in the life of Zarkon’s life with his people. The Black Lion is happy to oblige and often makes Shiro see when it’s nostalgic. Like, Shiro will be on a bonding moment(tm) with Black, and Black, thinking how Zarkon and Shiro are kinda similar, will just start to fly as if on Daibazaal and take the reigns over Shiro. The whole seeing through your lions eyes will appear, and Shiro’s here freaking out. He’s contacting Allura just saying “yeah, i’ll be a bit late. Black is being a bit nostalgic right now. Tell Keith he’ll be in charge for a while. And don’t let Lance do anything crazy.”

Now Keith. Keith… he’s bonded with Black. Sure. But he still loves Red. He would give the world. The universe. To be with Red again. He still has a bond with Red. He still can pilot Red. Same with Lance and Blue. They can still pilot their original Lions. They actually pilot their original lions better than Red and Black. Keith actively only rants snd talks to Red exclusively. He’s still hurting after Shiro’s death. He hates that change. He hates it. He feels like he’s taking away from Shiro even if he’s gone. Keith only talks to Red. When he separated from his mom again, he wished he could talk to Red again.

Favorite episode: Belly of the Weblum or Best Laid Plans

Stuck between these two but by far the best of the season in my opinion. Belly of the Weblum was really good to me because I got some good Hunk and Keith friendship moments and i liked the worldbuilding of the ep regarding the weblum and its role in the whole grand scheme even if it IS absurd and silly. It’s a good brand of silliness I like a lot. As for Best Laid Plans, the highlight of the episode was for sure Allura’s apology to Keith AND MORE IMPORTANTLY; THACE’S SACRIFICE. OH MY GOD. HIS CONFIDENCE AND DEDICATION AND FUCKING DEVOTION TO HIS CAUSE. WHAT A GOAT. Thace you will live forever in my heart. And how he and Keith worked together OHHHh. Not much else here besides that.

Favorite character(s): Allura and Hunk, a growing enjoyment of Keith

Hunk and Allura’s reasoning stay the same. I like how Keith’s reluctance at being a leader is written like he can’t ever imagine himself being in such a position, replacing SHIRO at that. I like how his character is shaping up. The way he’s also trying to get along with Lance but just being shot down bc Lance is such an ass the entire time like okay. Keith you should beat him up i’m so serious THROTTLE HIM

General notes:

So Keith is In Fact Galra, good to know. He brings up a good point in wondering when/how the Galra came to Earth and like. Yeah. Idk. Just That.

Pidge was nerdy as FUCK this season and I’m super here for it. Also in the mall episode, Pidge being indecisive between the alien-ly labeled bathrooms was so non-binary. Pidge you are non-binary. I love you Pidge

Allura proving that she’s the goat every episode. I love how her anger was written not as explosive but as icy, cold-shouldered, and deeply personal. I wish we would have gotten a scene with her talking about this situation to like Coran or even the mice just to hear what her thoughts were prior to apologizing to Keith, but either way it was quite good. 

This season I feel was a little more plot heavy but it did feel right because of how S1 set it up, but it was still quite good with handling how the characters interact with each other!! My highlights on this topic is the entire Belly of the Weblum episode with Keith and Hunk’s interactions (Keith trying his damndest to internalize what Shiro said to him regarding being the leader in the future (holy foreshadow) and Hunk being that grounding presence in the team). The other I really liked was Keith and Shiro’s entire dynamic that got little moments throughout the season, especially in The Blade of Malmora (THE BROTHERS OHHH OHH YOU WANT ME DEAD HUH. VOLTRON WRITERS. I’M GONNA GET YOU), in general Shiro being a good leader.

The environment designs were so fucking good this season, the artists really stepped up with these. The designs of the planets and their inhabitants were really fun and I can’t say that I dislike any of them at all (though my least favorite is the Blade of Malmora’s base between the two black holes smth just irks me about it but it’s not a big deal). 

Super happy we went back to the Balmera as well!! I love those rock people, AND SHAY WANTING TO SEE HER FRIEND :(( I hope Hunk and her get a moment together next season because i like their friendship a lot.

On the topic of friendship; MORE SHIRO AND ALLURA. Burdened by responsibility, haunted by the past, etc etc. The friends ever to me. I would also like some more Coran and Pidge just fucking around with science and technology, probably throw Hunk in too for the funsies. Give the crew a beach episode immediately.
