                             Everything had gone dark. 

  It had started out as just a normal mission.  A strange call for the mobile station of the Devil May Cry, but nothing too out of the ordinary.  Ever since the fall of Qliphoth tree, and Vitale’s subsequent return, missions had become more routine and often the demon summoner would join at Nero’s side.  This mission was no different. 

  Groaning softly, eyes fluttered open as he was met the demon summoner’s face.  Embarrassing, as Nero had been knocked out in his devil trigger form.  Lulling his head, Nero tried to make sense of his surroundings, everything feeling ever so slightly askew. 

“Ugh...  Vitale?” he murmured.  “What happened?”

  Though, what escaped past his lips was nothing short of incoherent growls as he tried to sit up.  It was then that Nero noticed something was very wrong.  It was clear to him almost immediately that he was still in his devil trigger form, but he was also a fraction of his size.  Stunned, he sat there for a moment, gazing up at Vitale before turning to look himself over in a panic. 

“What the hell is this?!”

hello again! Didn't mean to put off this ask for so long, things have been kinda hectic recently (ehem, print shop😌) but that's a good question! Assuming Sparda was ever a baby, I'm thinking it's very possible he spent the early chunk of his life as a larva, before pupating and emerging as a juvenile demon knight bug thing. Sparda being inherently inhuman means i don't think he'd have a cute baby phase really. Dante and Vergil's devil triggers take more from of their human side than Sparda's form does. Sparda's humanoid features would be developed as he matures. One cute feature I'm keeping in my head is he had cute little bug fuzz along segmentations between his scales. just as extra protection, obviously. no other reason (fuzzy bug ✨😳🐝✨)

^pupa Sparda. the conditions for keeping it alive are probably more... gore-y than the typical bug.

^juvenile Sparda. in human terms, he's around preteen age. his horns, wings, and armor will continue to develop as he grows and sheds. I took some inspo from this one statue of Sparda you can find in dmc5, the segmentation on the bottom half of it felt kinda worm-y to me. Also looked at Cavalier Angelo, and my own baby devil trigger designs + actual bugs and pupas and babies.
