A brief list of random-ass DMC5 "lore" I learned just from investigating the van model files from the game in Blender:
Some context first: the menus in the game load in real time, and there are several different models for the van, which highlight different details, depending on which part of the menu (and therefore angle of the van interior) you're in. For example, the menu shot of Nero and Vergil sitting together is a different van model than the one of Nero sitting in the front seat, etc. I extracted all of the van files from the game, put them in Blender, and spent several hours playing around and zooming in on every cool detail I could find. There is a lot and I mean a lot of hidden stuff in the models that you don't really notice in the game, but its incredibly detailed and I had (maybe too much) fun with this lol.
Nero is apparently chronically online, the internet exists, and he makes meme references on sticky notes. (Context: 'such taste' 'such wow' is doge memes... wtf Nero indeed)
Someone (I'm going to assume Nero since he's already canonically a rock fan), is a fan of a band called "Remote Thought" which is decribed as "acidic synthwave ambience rock."
Contrary to popular belief, the game does appear to be set in some sort of modern era. We don't know the exact year, but it takes place relatively close to modern day meaning the twins likely would've been ~80s babies and Nero was an ~early 2000s baby (approximations since we don't know exactly when DMC5 is set, but its at least beyond 2015).
Although most of the places shown in the games are fictional, real world cities do exist, including Tokyo, Osaka, London, Hong Kong, Bangkok (Thailand), Sapporo (Japan), Reykjavik (Iceland), San Fransisco, Budapest (Hungary), Praha (Czech Republic), Wacken (Germany), Clisson (France), and NΓΌrburg (Germany).
A variety of real-world festivals also exist including Burning Man, the Wacken festival in Germany, Hellfest in France, and Rock am Ring in Germany.
They have alcohol in the van lmfao
Nico is very into tattoos and graffiti art
Nico does her makeup and nails in the van-- you can see her blush and makeup brushes, the mirror she uses, and the nail polish bottles laid out.
Either Nero or Nico (could be either since Nico is very into tattoos and does art with her weapons work, but Nero also did all the engravings himself for Blue Rose) is an artist.
A lot of the music from the games exists within the games themselves & is sometimes diegetic (meaning the characters can hear it too). We already knew Devils Never Cry, Out of Darkness, and Devil Trigger existed (to name a few) since the characters play the songs in the games, but it looks like there's a lot more.
Not really lore related but there's stickers fucking everywhere in the van so here are some close-ups of them:
Some of these, like the sticky note, were mentioned/shown in the art book as well but I wanted to get more shots and dig deeper so I did hehe.
