the thing about aroace characters being treated by fandoms isn't being shipped...
it's just that the aroace aspect of character is COMPLETLY IGNORED most of the times.
some people go like "well, aroace people can still date!" and then never ever acknowledge characters canon sexuality.
like, we already challenge heteronormativity in ships, so why not challenge what romance "supposed" to be? there is a thing called queer platonic, use it in ships. not only with aroace characters, but like, with any character.
the things that were aroace signs for me but i didn't get it at the time
being confused about what being a close friendship is and being in love
not understanding simping for celebrities/idols and thinking one day you will get a chance to marry them, plus being mad that an idol is in a relationship and feeling entitled towards saied idol, thinking they belong to you
liking aethetic of love and being in relationship, but hating being in one
never understanding seeing new female characters and imidietly making r34 jokes
not being into self shipping(i always prefered shipping ocs with canon characters)
always rooting for childhood best friend to end up with main character in harems/choosing childhood best friend in romance games
not treating shipping seriosly
liked valentines days for chocolate only(and cute decorations)
being annoyed that only romantic love is treated as a "true" and "real" type of love
seeing your romantic partner as a friend first, instead of a lover
hating the trope of two friends/siblings fighting over one person they both are in love with(especialy if characters are adults)

god, i hate forsaken community sometimes.
tldr: two time real name is thomas, people bullied the author of a character into changing their name bc it was "transphobic".
i hate it becasue of few reasons.
two time was always a nickname, and nobody knew their real name, outside of azure.
there was never an implication that thomas was their birth name/dead name. two time cloud just chosen their new name as freaking thomas.
non binary people can chose to stay with their birth name. i myself, a agender person, will stay with my birth name, becasue i still like it.
non binary people don't have to be 100% fucking androgynous. look at chance, he presents themselfs as masculine, yet he is still non binary.
amab's can be non binary(for some people, they think only afab's can be enbys, bruh).
thanks to those people, non binary representation is either limited, or is almost always the same. smh.
