Sam literally stops functioning when Cas is around. He’s a ball of nerves and awkward dialogue that never fails to get Cas smiling and he’s tall, Sam’s not sure why he’s counting that, probably because he towers over everyone (as if he wasn’t weird enough to begin with). Really though, it’s not Sam’s fault that Castiel is so good looking with his stupidly, perfectly mussed hair, his deep blue eyes, bitable chin- No, no, Sam can’t think about that. He’s already too far gone even without Castiel’s appearance being so attractive. Castiel is also fluent in Latin, German, Russian, and a few dialects of Arabic. He’s in all AP classes, excluding english (Sam thanks whatever gods are out there because he shares that class with Castiel and it wouldn’t have been a possibility if he was as gifted at English as he was with almost everything else).The only problem is, he’s Dean’s best friend. They know each other from boy scouts and the fact that they’ve shared far more classes over the years makes this whole a little more than uncomfortable for Sam. It’s annoying to have to watch them interact. Or maybe it’s annoying because Dean is so good at it. He can just talk effortlessly while Sam talks like he just started learning how to speak. Unless they’re in English. Then Sam doesn’t seem to know when to shut up about the books they read and the poetry and eventually everyone in class begins to roll their eyes whenever Sam raises his hand to answer a question and derail the class another five minutes. It’s not his fault he likes The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. It’s not his fault if no one else appreciates it like he does. The only thing that shuts him up is when Castiel turns around, brow raised, lips quirked into a smile. Sam doesn’t know if Castiel realizes this, or if anyone does, but he dislike how effective it is all the same. Sam supposes that’s why he avoids Castiel, if he can. It doesn’t help that the older boy will materialize out of nowhere quoting poems that Sam’s expressed interest in during class, doesn’t help that he smiles when Sam, as if on cue, completes the line when Castiel stops, and it really doesn’t help that Castiel is fairly intelligent about it all. His insights and critiques always leave Sam with an awe inspired feeling like he’s just witnessed something no one else has. Dean and Cas may have inside jokes and years of friendship, but he and Sam have… a few years of Sam being totally inept around him plus analyses on Shakespeare?The younger boy sighed. He needed to cut his losses when he could. If that meant avoiding Castiel then damn it, that’s what he would do. Stop from making an even bigger idiot out of himself before Castiel realized that Sam actually was the boring nerd Dean liked to jokingly call him. Still, every once in a while, Sam wouldn’t be noticed by either boy while they talked by their lockers or walked together with Sam trailing just out of earshot. And he’d watch them talk, watch Castiel smile, watch his brother effortlessly kid around, imagining all the time how one day he could be apart of that.

I really do enjoy talking to you, and I'm really excited to do our steroline para soon. You're hilarious and I think you're the best Stefan I've seen.

I know I might not be the best of fathers (hell it runs in the family) and I don't have the best of jobs but I love you and I just keep going here and I really know I should stop but... God I love you Bela. I really do, and if that's what you want... then it's what I want.
