i have all of my settings on google set to german but sometimes it does this really weird thing where it'll only show me dutch adverts? and the thing about dutch is it sounds kinda similar to german so when i'm not fully paying attention i'll hear it and be really confused why i can't understand it

Found this gem again yesterday - this, my darlings, is the reason I like to say that I’m “trilingual” ^^ Austrian German is a magical language ^^
I’m slowly starting to become an expert in the Carinthian dialect of Austrian German. Apparently this is what happens when you let your Austrian friend teach you German...
But I agree with her words, “Never miss an opportunity to learn dialect!” And I think she’s right. No matter how rare the dialect, I’m sure it’s still worth learning because that’s how you learn how people REALLY speak the language.
