The shrill Sussan Ley demanded daily that PM Anthony Albanese do something about antisemitism in the wake of the Bondi Beach shooting. She and her party sought to make the whole thing his responsibility. Now, the Coalition is revealed as playing politics and not genuinely desirous of doing real things to stop hate speech and take the guns off the streets. Coalition revealed as attention seekers lacking credibility. The LNP will not support the legislation designed to stop the inciting of racial violence via hate speech and the tightening of gun laws. Right wing political parties have less and less credibility these days. It is all about attention seeking for them and, then they don’t carry through with anything.

The Coalition Won’t Support The Anti-Hate Speech Legislation

Let us remember that all of the failings which ultimately produced the 2 mass murderers killing 15 innocent victims at Bondi Beach occurred under the Coalition’s watch. The fact that this shooter had access to 6 guns happened on the timeline when the LNP were in federal government. The blame game points the finger at a rise of antisemitism. The Coalition has consistently undermined the introduction of any legislation that sought to criminalise hate speech over the last 20 years, especially racially motivated hate speech.

Coalition revealed as attention seekers lacking credibility. The truth is that right wing folk, especially far right types, are much more likely to be slagging off different kinds of people. Ask yourself who is protesting about too much immigration coming to Australia? Who has issues with the LGBTQI community and gender identity? Who voted No in the Voice referendum? The people wrapping themselves in the national flag and claiming that they are more Australian because of the colour of their skin and the Anglo-roots of their family names are far more likely to indulge in hate speech based on racial grounds than progressives. In contrast many of those voting for Albanese and Labor want less divisiveness in their nation and the political sphere. It is the same story with getting guns off our streets. Did you know that there are now more guns in Australia than prior to the Port Arthur massacre?

Guns Make Killing More People Easier

Guns are not big boy toys! But that is exactly how many gun owners view things. Why do people in the suburbs need to own multiple fire arms? We are not talking about farmers here. The majority of guns in Australia are owned by suburbanites. Fire arms should not be seen as recreational devices – they are deadly weapons. All those innocent victims at Bondi Beach would not be dead or wounded if these killers had not had access to so many fire arms. If you want a target based recreational pursuit play golf instead. There is no place for these deadly weapons in our peaceful towns and cities. Coalition revealed as attention seekers lacking credibility, as they won’t support tougher gun laws downunder.

Far Right Bringing Aussie Flag Into Disrepute

“How about making it a crime for those individuals and organisations bringing the Australian flag into disrepute? I am sick of seeing neo-Nazis and white Australia groups wrapping themselves in the national flag at rallies and events. By what right do they have to degrade our national flag by associating it with their hateful and unAustralian positions? This country was built on immigration. This nation respectfully includes brown skinned Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. This country of ours proudly accepts peoples of all religions. These democratic principles are foundational to what Australia is and who it represents.”
