Todays Commanders Challenge of 26.1km for the Canada Army Run is dedicated to 4 fallen soldiers on this date 15 years ago on September 18, 2006. A good friend of mine Private David Byers was one of those fallen soldiers from 2 PPCLI who was on a foot patrol while handing out school supplies and such to the young Afghan children. This tough loss deserves a tough challenge and that challenge this year is worthy of a 26.1km run in remembrance to these fallen warriors, comrades and heroβs. The theme for this years run is βVigilamus pro teβ which means to stand on guard for thee, and indicates the Canadaβs Army primary purpose: the defence of Canada and all Canadians. Go challenge yourselves today because we donβt remember days but we do remember the moments that happen my comrades. #gonebutnotforgotten #alwaysremembered #armyrun @canadaarmyrun (at Kamloops, British Columbia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CT-QJmFlrYa/?utm_medium=tumblr
