Wake up girl, the perfect name for Armand and Marius ship just dropped!
If I said what I really thought about the Marius/Armand thing mentioned in episode 8 I'm afraid both sides of the discussion would want me dead 😔

So, The Queen of the Damned, I finally finished it. I only read the last Lestat chapter today, so that's what most in my mind.
So, I think that whole thing was definitely the best Loustat content? Lestat loving to hear him call him a devil, oh I love that as an ending. The whole thing was beautiful. I liked that we got to see more of Louis' personality, cause in their TVL reunion he was kinda just there.
Lestat's interaction with David Talbot is also interesting, and I know it's setup, for better or worse.
So, the book in general. I thought it was really cool. I thought it was interesting to have each chapter be about a different character, as they somehow had some connection to what was happening, and the story of the twins being slowly built up in their dreams.
And so, the story of the twins. I think that was the highlight of the book for me. I loved the mystery, I loved the hints we got especially in Jesse's chapter, then the whole thing told by Maharet finally. I know some people don't like it but I think I kinda love all the backstory exposition that constantly happens in this series. I mean, Marius' is my least favorite outside of the part about Those Who Must Be Kept, but even then I liked it well enough.
I felt like Jesse could basically be like a YA protagonist on her on. So her chapter was interesting in that way. Daniel x Armand? Yeah I see the appeal. Their whole fever dream of a chapter was, well, that, I remember I stayed up super late wanting to finish.
Marius is nasty but I kinda like him and Armand and their reunion, which felt line a big deal when it happened.
Baby Jenks' chapter was wild, and I liked that she was Lestat's point of reference for how what Akasha did was so terrible.
But mostly I really liked Maharet and Mekare? Well Maharet more as she has more of a presence. The Great Family thing was an interesting way for a vampire to sort of stay connected with the human world. Also I remember that she and Jesse kissed once, which I just want to acknowledge as a rare sapphic incestuous moment.
Khayman is a sweetheart and I like that he was involved in the main plot.
On Akasha... I really don't like her. I get that her mysandric girlboss goals might be appealing to some, but I can't get over what she did to Maharet and Mekare. Never imagined I'd be pissed at a character for not letting someone eat their mother lol. Also the way cannibalism as a religious practice and religious intolerance was portrayed was... interesting?
And again they are so cool. Akasha has nothing on them sorry. I liked that Maharet had a sort of ethereal gentleness, and Mekare being the true savage. It's also so cool they were witches, and the introduction of the spirits and especially the one that caused the creation of the vampires was amazing. Honestly the lore is just incredible imo. I liked how it was built up on TVL and then all laid out here, I think everything tied up perfectly.
I don't know how I'll go on with the series with all I've read about it, but I feel like I at least closed a chapter by finishing this one and I'm a bit satisfied!
I keep seeing parallels of Armand and Marius it just keep reminding of the fact that Marius had him since he was like 14
Like Oh god he raised him 😔😔
