there's pleeeeeenty more egregious things amc tvl has done that i can criticize, but since i am a big marius, marimand, & maristat fan i am gonna focus on that rn.

first of all, marius's appearance. literally OF ALL vampires to give short hair, giving it to marius is the stupidest fucking choice they could've made. and i really hope he actually has long hair but just regularly cut it at that time, because he is one of if not the only vampire whose long hair is significant to their backstory & making.

as for maristat. in the books they are lovers. lovers in the way vampires are lovers. lestat is infatuated with marius, literally searching him for fucking ever, and marius is deeply fond of lestat. in the show there is literally nothing but coldness and annoyance between them.

marius is well spoken and smart in the books, taking care of akasha and enkil is extremely important to him, and he wouldn't just fuck off and leave with minimal instructions. but you want me to believe he just packed up and left like that? in what world. not even in marius hater fanfics is he written this poorly.

in the book when he pulls lestat from the dirt and lets him feed from him, its very intimate and it's from the neck, not the wrist. in the show they said 'no fucking homo anymore' and they didn't even make skin to skin contact while marius gave him blood. he wasn't even fucking awake during it.

as for marimand. marius would not call armand 'rotten' for not knowing that he didn't die from the fire, because he almost fucking did, and it really fucking seemed like it.

literally in the smallest amount of screentime possible they have managed to assasinate one major character (marius) and two major relationships (maristat, marimand) and i am so fucking pissed about it.
