i remember when i first watched twd in my early high school years and bethyl was my favorite ship. it was extremely popular too. nowadays you'll get nailed to the cross for it in the very same fandom bc of the age gap (even though the actors confirmed they played their episodes and dynamic as subtly romantic) the inability to see fiction as fiction is a disease that spread so fast and i fucking hate it.

being an anti joining the iwtv/tvc fandom and demanding everyone ship only the morally acceptable (to you) abusive ships or you will send your army of teenagers to harass them has gotta be peak pathetic fandom experiences. i was in the tvc fandom since i was in high school, and it has been absolutely fucking ran over, chewed up, shit out, and vomited on by the fucking moralistic grandstanding show fan puritans who claim they read the books with their eyes closed surely because otherwise they'd know all their favs are just as fucked up.
