— Max isn't naturally very expressive with words but once he loves you , it's obvious in the little things

— During race weeks , the difference between " Boyfriend Max " and " Driver Max " is insane. One minute he's teasing you over text , the next he's zooming through track like Mad Bull

— You quickly learn not to take his short replies personally during a GP weekend yet somehow you never doubt how much he loves you

— Half the time his texts look like they were written under duress " Landed " , " Okay " , " Love you too " but his actions speak otherwise

— Race weekends are honestly terrifying though

— Off-track : He's arguing with you over breakfast because you stole a sip of his coffee

— On-track : he's a completely different person. Focused and Ruthless as if somebody unleashed a beast and forgot to put him back in the cage

— Watching him during qualifying feels illegal and watching him during a wheel-to-wheel battle definitely feels like you're witnessing a crime and then the helmet comes off and he's back to asking : " Did you eat? "

— You're always one of the first people he calls after a race , win or lose , doesn't matter because somehow hearing your voice settles him faster than anything else.

— One of the funniest things about your relationship is Max's complete inability to dress like a normal person

— The man owns normal clothes. You know he does. You've seen them. And yet somehow he always ends up wearing Red Bull merchandise : Team hoodie. Team polo. Team jacket. Team cap. Team backpack. Team everything.

— " Do you own anything that doesn't have a sponsor on it ? "

— " Yes "

— " Then why don't you wear it? "

— " Why would I ? "

— " Because you look like you're heading to a team meeting. "

— " Maybe I am. "

— " We're going to dinner. "

— " Same thing "

— Fancy dinners becomes a weekly battle. You'll spend an hour getting ready , then walk out and see him standing there in a Red Bull polo yet again , looking incredibly proud of himself.

— " Go change "

— " ....no "

— " Max "

— " No "

— Five minutes later he changes , but not before making sure you've suffered first.

— The language situation in your relationship is an absolute disaster

— You don't know much Dutch as you're still learning. Very slowly. Mostly because every time you try , Max starts smiling.

— You'll spend ten minutes trying to pronounce something correctly and finally say it , feeling proud and this idiot starts grinning

— " Why are you smiling? "

— " Nothing ~ "

— " You're litreally laughing. "

— " You're seeing things ~ "

— " MAX ! "

— " You sound cute ~ "

— " I'm trying to speak your language ! "

— " I know and you sound cute "

— Another fun fact : whenever you're annoyed , you automatically switch to Bengali but you don't even realize you're doing it.

— One second you're speaking English , the next second you're ranting in rapid-fire Bengali which Max finds absolutely hilarious

— And because he's annoying and completely yours ( absolute ragebaiter ) , he immediately starts responding in Dutch and neither of you understands half of what the other is saying.

— " Tumi oshohyo! "

— Dutch.

— " Don't Dutch me "

— More Dutch

— " MAX! "

— Even more Dutch

— At one point he's laughing too hard to even continue

— Sim racing nights are an experience. You tell yourself you'll stay for fifteen minutes and suddenly it's 3 AM.

— Max arguing with his friends through his headset , winning races , complaining about the speed , complaining about setups , complaining about everything in general but every now and then he'll reach over and squeeze your hand without even looking , just checking you're still there.

— The " don't go " moments happen when he's exhausted , especially after race weekends. You'll stand up from the couch. Immediately : " Where are you going? " " Kitchen " " Don't " "I need water." " Bring me with you " " That's not how it works hon " " It should be "

— For someone who races at 300 km/h , he's surprisingly clingy when sleepy — head on your lap , arms around your waist refusing to let go , acting like moving three feet away is a personal betrayal

— His version of saying "I love you" isn't always verbal. It's pulling you closer during flights , remembering random details you mentioned months ago , automatically reaching for your hand or saving the last bite of dessert because he knows you'll steal it anyway

— The actual " I love you " moments are rare which somehow makes them even more meaningful

— It usually happems late at night with no cameras , no interviews , no Formula 1...just you and him. Soft voice with forehead pressed lightly against yours like the rest of the world doesn't exist.

— Then there are the pets. Or as you both secretly call them — our children.

— Jimmy , Sassy , Donatello and Minnow , the dachshund : the four tiny dictators running the household.

— Max complains about them constantly. " Jimmy woke me up. " " Sassy knocked something over. " " Donatello sat on my simulator. " " Minnow stole my sock. " but still somehow his camera roll is 80% pet photos.

— He acts annoyed when Jimmy decides his keyboard is a bed while he's doing sim racing , he acts annoyed when Minnow follows him everywhere , he acts annoyed when Sassy demands attention from him , he acts annoyed when Donatello interrupts an online meeting BUT the keyword is acts , because five minutes later he's carrying one of them around like a baby , having full on conversations with them as if they are humans

— One of his favorite things is watching you with them. He'll never admit it directly but every single time you're sitting on the floor playing with Minnow or cuddling one of the cats , he gets that look. That soft look , the one he tries to hide.

— You'll be baby talking one of the cats , completely unaware. Meanwhile Max is leaning against the doorway smiling. " What? " " Nothing. " " You're staring " " Maybe because you're cute "

— He loves that the children adore you...even if he's slightly jealous

— "Jimmy likes me more " Jimmy immediately climbs into your lap "...Traitor"

— The public sees a savage , nonchalant Max Verstappen.

— The paddock sees a three time world champion

— But you ? You see the menace who deliberately switches to Dutch just to annoy you , who wears Red Bull merchandise like it's a personality trait , the one who secretly finds your broken Dutch adorable , the exhausted boyfriend who turns into a giant baby after race weekends , the pet dad who complains about his children while simultaneously spoiling them rotten , the man who says very little but somehow makes you feel loved every single day.

— And no matter how many races he wins , how many championships he collects , or how many arguments you have about his twenty-seventh Red Bull hoodie...he still looks for you first after every race , every podium , every victory , every difficult day , every single timecuz to him , you're his safe haven.
