yeah yeah sevika probably freaky for smiling when cait bit her..... but are we considering that sevika KNOWS caitlyn has never had to fight tooth and nail LITERALLY before. sevika takes DELIGHT in making an enforcer, someone who is most comfortable far away from the action, be reduced to aninalistic instict. without her rifle, caitlyn has no defenses. sevika probably WANTED to see what caitlyn would do when she's defenseless.

vi, someone sevika has backed into a corner before, was able to fight her way out on her own. caitlyn would not have been able to fight her way out of that corner.
Vander and Ned Stark Parallels
I could write an essay on the parallels between Vander and Ned Stark.
Fighters turned into father figures. Holding on to morals and virtues that no longer function in the world they lived in. Both their deaths become catalysts, leaving the next generation to pick up the pieces.
"Love is the bane of honor, the death of duty."
Ned knew the truth and had leverage but chose honesty & loyalty instead. He adopted Jon, knew his lineage & kept it a secret for honor. Vander could've joined Silco with shimmer but he judged him for it instead.
They were too naive, nostalgic, and short-sighted for the leadership that was demanded of them.
Both Ned and Vander were betrayed by men from their past who played the game better than them. And underestimated their counterpart at the exact time that it mattered the most. Their principles made them predictable and weak in a game that doesn't care if you're playing fair.
They're the "good guys," in the narrative, yes, but refusing to adapt causes more harm than good in leadership positions. They left themselves and others extremely vulnerable for morals that I would deem as selfish. Their deaths left the one's they swore to protect and their community abandoned in a ruthless world that they were not prepared for.
Their roles as father figures are central to their stories and echo each other. Especially when you look at what their children inherit from their deaths. And it's interesting because both Ned and Vander chose fatherhood out of their sense of duty AND the chance for redemption. Ned Stark with Jon. Vander with Vi and Powder.
The child's innocence dies with their father.
Both Arya and Powder watched their fathers die traumatically. Arya becomes a weapon of vengeance driven by guilt and anger. Sansa's thrown to the wolves. Vi driven by guilt and anger. Powder spirals into Jinx.
But they survive — DESPITE their father's lessons.
Anyway, I actually really like that there is fault in their approach and that these two characters aren't infallible. But I think a lot of the nuance gets lost in season 2 and maybe it didn't really matter in the end. I just couldn't stop thinking about this.

-i love jinx with all of my heart, she's just so ajkdshf... my thoughts on the relationship between her and silco is essentially that they both wanted to be each other's family but they just didn't know how.
-this is a hot take but... i love maddie so much. even after the betrayal. i know, i know, i'm terrible
-what happened with jayvik was basically gay sex right like we can all agree on that
-caitlyn and vi are horrible for each other yet so good at the same time

The scene with Jinx’s hair down is one of the most hitting for me but I also can’t help but imagine her meticulously placing her hair in that perfect circle. I know she didn’t get that perfect first try.

ppl realize that timebomb is only canon cuz amanda randomly decided to write a whole episode about it n that it barely counts as canon outside of arcane, right? also can like we just talk about how they didn’t know what to do with ekko in s2 so that his revolution wouldnt get in the way of piltoverslop so they decided to do an entire episode about a ship. this seems to b a trend with amanda that even leaked into another show where she prioritizes shipping drama instead of actual storytelling.
caitlyn kiramman is not a complex character. she is a poorly written character at best. what exactly is supposed to make her more of a complex female character than jinx or vi? to me her character just isnt special. caitlyns complexities come from her deep rooted prejudices coupled with the trauma of her mother dying. but this can also b applied to jinx for being traumatized by her family dying. the problem with cait is that she has prejudices against zaunites backing her trauma. she is not doing the wrong thing for the right reasons, vice versa. she is doing the wrong thing for the wrong reasons. u can say cait had no choice (she did) but also it is well within ppl’s right to simply not like her character due her portrayal as an oppressive character who enacts her oppressive power onto the oppressed. a lot of ppl understand her character n still choose not to like her. i personally hate cait stans who r performative n call her a complex female character while also misunderstanding the low level complexities of her character and infantilizing her. i would HATE to b appreciative of caitlyns character and have her fandom treat her like a helpless child who did nothing wrong. also, what is the point of lamenting her being a complex female character only to then strip her of said complexities by a. refusing to acknowledge her prejudices, excusing her behaviour, blaming her behaviour on other female characters like vi, jinx, or ambessa n using this as a way to excuse her behaviour as well, etc??? this is why i just cant take cait stans seriously.
