I hate being from a source considered problimatic. Ash, I want you to know that, against all odds, I survived. I woke up in the hospital a few days after I passed out at the cabin, which had been totally wiped out along with some of the surrounding forest. The police blamed all the destruction on a flash tornado, and they thought the winds somehow flung the dagger across the room and into my back. Some story, huh? I never told anyone what really happened because I knew they never would have believed me. They never found your body, so I always hoped you escaped somehow, and that some day you might show up on my doorstep with booze and some cheesy one-liner. That never happened, though. I don't know what happened to you, but whatever it was, I want you to know that I missed you back then and I miss you now. I know our time together was brief, and I'm sure you don't miss me as much as, say, your sister, or your friends, but you've been a big comfort to me in this life, and I'm really grateful for that.
