Dropping this week: "Kiwi" New Zealand-style Keller Pilsner (5.5%) ft. Motueka & Nelson Sauvin hops. Our next Animal Lager has arrived! This time we're taking inspiration from our Southern Hemisphere friends in New Zealand. "Kiwi" features a moderate dry hop of a blend of Motueka and Nelson Sauvin. The aroma promises a crisp, delicate take on a classic pale lager. A kiss of sulfur and crackery malt sit alongside the floral and fruity nature of the hops. The palate is complex and nuanced. First comes the floral and subtly tropical hop character from Motueka. Crisp, bready malty hits in the middle and reminds you this lager is clean and fresh. The Nelson Sauvin hops come on late, firing up a white grape flavor that ascends and then dissipates as your palate is aerated. A lingering grass note and touch of sulfur leave you ready for the next sip. This is a complex and layered yet supremely crushable lager. It may just be the best iteration of a lineage of excellent lagers in the series. It's available today for Key Masons and tomorrow for the general public.
