from watching a lot of true crime interviews and documentaries, it always hit me how the friends and family of the perpetrators of like, bigotry motivated mass shootings, sexual predators, & domestic violence abusers that end in death always be like, “well i didn’t think they were that bad/there weren’t like that with me/there were no signs i noticed” and in the next clip we’ll be shown screenshots of texts, snippets of phone calls, or other first hand proof of communications shared between them and it will show the perpetrators making like, rape jokes, unironically saying nigger, sus comments about age of consent laws, & negative emotional rants about minority groups or women.
that is breadcrumbing. the signs, flags, alarms and whatnot be there, but the people involved either didn’t care to call it out, found such behavior normal bc they participate in it too, or don’t think of it as an issue worth alarm at all bc it dont affect them.

there’s literally no closing of rank or attempts at discernment being made in who or what is allowed to take up space in the left, from the macro to micro levels. white ppl as whole way too lackadaisical to be given the benefit of the doubt regarding the safety and self determination of poc and especially Black people in this country. they fold so quick for a barely concealed “moderate” nigga for some dumb shit like, idk: they said hi a few times in the same femboy discord servers you frequent
