In the October 1966 issue of Tales of Suspense (#82), the Super-Adaptoid first appeared who was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The Adaptoid was the creation of AIM and sent to the Avengers mansion to drive Captain America to mental exhaustion and take the America's place. The android had the power to take on the likeness and powers of others. ("The Maddening Mystery of the Inconceivable Adaptoid!", Tales of Suspense #82, event)
