From Star Trek to The Invaders

As a team rather than individual character headcanons? Sure!

-I think that out of all the original five core Invaders members, Toro Raymond and Steve Rogers have the most distant relationship. Jim Hammond and Namor obviously have their whole homoerotic rivals thing going on, Jim and Toro are of course partners, Steve and Bucky Barnes are partners, Steve and Jim are pretty close (especially when it's Jim, Steve, and Namor together), Toro and Namor are kind of close by proximity (especially when its Namor, Jim, and Toro together), Bucky and Namor are pretty close, and even Bucky and Jim seem to be closer than Steve and Toro are. And this comes up in a few angsty ways, such as in the original Silver Age timeline.........Steve would have been defrosted when Toro died. But he didn't attend the funeral. And it's interesting because I do think they have more in common than just Bucky, especially in the 21st century when Toro had to go through the whole "man out of time" experience (to a certain extent all the original Invaders had to go through it, but for Bucky and Namor it's less "being frozen/dead for decades and then waking up in the future" and more losing time due to amnesia/mind control, and for Jim it's the "man out of time" experience and the feeling of inhumanity). Both Steve and Toro died shortly after watching their best friend and partner die (for Steve it was a few seconds, for Toro it was years, but due to lost time from mind control, it likely felt like minutes) and then suddenly woke up decades into the future to find most of their friends and/or lovers dead, elderly, or moved on. I think they could really bond over that shared experience.

-Kind of a headcanon, but a few years ago I designed a badge for them to wear on their uniforms during the war:

Well for one, I think that a few years ago when Bucky was assembling a team to kill Red Skull, it shouldn't have been all those other characters, it should have been the WWII-era Invaders, all of whom, I may add, were alive and well and could definitely have done it. But hey it looks like Marvel is gonna bring Red Skull back again (not that I'm surprised, I knew he wasn't gonna stay dead for long) so we have a chance for the WWII-era Invaders to go after him. That's what I would do for the Invaders in modern times.

But I'm honestly most interested in the Invaders during WWII, and there are a ton of interesting directions I could go with them. For one, it's been hinted at/referenced in multiple comics that the Invaders took part in the Allied coastal invasion of Italy, but no comic really delving deep into it. I would definitely like to explore that. Really, there haven't been all that many Invaders stories that take place before June 1944. Invaders (1975) did a good job covering the earlier days of US involvement in WWII, but since then, there hasn't been all that much. I'd also like to see more of the Invaders in the Pacific theater of war and the Eastern front, which we know they were involved in, but didn't get nearly enough stories with them in it.
