Had a major realisation recently that changes fucking everything; my ADHD meds aren’t only for school or work. For some reason I got it into my head that that was it, using them for anything else was wrong. I shouldn’t be reliant on them so that must mean I only take them for very specific things, right? Wrong!
What I mean is like, yes they work super well for work/school, but they also help with so many other things! It’s not even just getting stuff done that I didn’t want to, it’s things I enjoy too! I took them for a D&D session and wow did it make a difference! I enjoyed it way more than I previously had and felt a lot more present!
This is such a huge revelation for me! I don’t know why I ever thought about my meds like that before, but I understand now that they are there to help. I’m not reliant on them, I don’t need them to function, but they help make things easier, and there is no shame in that! I don’t know if I’m the only one who was thinking this, but if I’m not I hope that I can help others by sharing this.
It’s crazy how much I’ve evolved this year compared to last year. I can actually get stuff done and I’m not exhausted 24/7. I do get low on energy sometimes but I follow the signals and take a rest or have a snack. It’s like the star after the tower! Even in math classes I’m pretty good at it like I’m at the “smart table” and people look to me and ask me for help. What the fuck 😂
I wonder if it’s my deities influence too because Odin, Hermes, and Apollo are associated with knowledge. I also just love generally learning things and it’s become like addictive to get things done. Gives dopamine.
I just bought myself two of these books (science and computer science) and they’re honestly the best thing.
This is how the entire book is written, they’re are all so simple yet so not boring. It’s so easy and comfortable to read and remember what you read. There are also questions at the end of each chapter with the answers on the next page.
Also, pg. nr. 1 is the first page of the first chapter, can we please appreciate that?!
What I learned today about my ADHD!
Women with ADHD are more prone to eating disorders, obesity, low self-esteem, depression, and anxiety.
We are emotionally and socially impulsive, this can cost us friendships, relationships and jobs.
Our anterior cingular cortex (ACC) the part of our brain that gives us time to think about our actions before we follow through with them, doesn't work properly or at all. Which is why we can get into trouble, like acting before thinking.
I am just learning about my ADHD I know very little and have found "how to ADHD" on YouTube a very helpful and straight forward resource.

There are bad days in which I can't even read or hear. I'm stuck inside my mind's noise, and I really can't process what's going on.
whenever i’m in a stressful situation, say my parent yelling at me, making mistakes, doing something stupid i like tense up all my muscles, especially in my legs to point where it really hurts and can often hurt for a few days afterward but i can’t stop myself from doing it at the time despite knowing that i shouldn’t and my parents get like really weird whenever i do it (i’ve gotten better at doing it more subtly which maybe isn’t a good thing but it means they don’t see and don’t comment) might this be adhd related?
I think everyone can experience different things! I know a few people have experienced some similar things, but I am not sure if it’s an adhd thing! #adhdclub what are your thoughts!?
Going to attempt a half hour only video call with my girlfriend who also has ADHD tomorrow, and then we're going to be accountability buddies for some work we need to do. 🤣🙈 let's see how well this goes to plan.
