i’m not a poet or even really a writer okay MANY people have waxed on reddie way better (and way more coherent than) i ever could and i know that. 

HOWEVER... i love reddie so much. it’s like the “in love with your best friend” trope on a double dosage of adhd and gay panic. the pure chaotic energy that surrounds them is unmatched, like i know they’re both plagued by nightmares but i just know that when they fall asleep together they just black out CRASH because they expend so much energy on their back and forth and just existing in the same universe together (and they never sleep as good as when they sleep together lbr) 

but on top of this barely contained chaos inside their friendship they’ve got this impossible impossible softness that encompasses their whole love like richie is a fuckin sap for eddie even behind the jokes and the deflection and eddie is soft as hell especially for richie even behind the shaken up anger and the repression and they’d do anything and everything for each other and it’s so. it’s just..so.. you know? it’s the definition of tender is what it is.

and on TOP! of that. they’re both mutually head over heels for each other and both mutually ignorant that they’re head over heels for each other. the level of insufferable morons they are... imagine being friends with two idiots who are so deep in the closet together they don’t see how gay it is to share a hammock with your good bro. i’d personally kill richie tozier myself after hearing “eddie my love” sung off-key for the 50th time in one day!
