on all accounts I respect that Jensen doesn’t want to get involved/doesn’t really believe in destiel but sometimes I’m like man what the fuck were you doing because Dean was doing gay ass shit too

i know that the general consensus is (canonically) 'dean didn't reciprocate' but, (of course as a destiel shipper) I think he just didn't have time, not even time in terms months and therapy (as a non-literal concept), but time as in, ten minutes, time as in, time to have a conversation. to cry. but instead his very best friend (and potentially something more) just died in front of him and all he has now is a turning stomach, a bloody handprint, and a buzzing phone.

what's interesting about 15x16 for me is that its the last MotW episode, and they never go to the bunker. It's focused in a motel, and its very subtle but also feels deliberate, like an homage to the earlier seasons, of the constant movement and transition, the two options being case or car.
