she’s so undersocialized it’s crazy like i’m trying not to just shake my head and say “damn she should’ve gone to college” every time i see a new detail.

generally i think it suffers from big swings that still feel just like big swings for the sake of swinging, gabriell(a) is one of the craziest misfires i’ve ever seen, and i could do with some spaces of slightly less frenetic pacing so some of the harsher moments could have time to land… but i’m having a great time and i’m still invested enough to not only look forward to it every week but to have actual critique which. let me tell you. the television landscape has been bleak (hence the near silence on this blog). so it’s nice to even care.

i just feel like it doesn’t even deserve eloquence. i’m not going to spend a second articulating my thoughts on that circus when i don’t have any! she can call me when she makes a good album again.

people like "this perv and villain breathing down her neck and distrubring her" meanwhile he's giving her a reason to live skdjfghjfkd i find it all very sweet and romantic like. these are your circumstances. these things are real to both you and everyone in your world. so WHAT DO YOU DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and maybe this is just my read of the situation because it's what i want to see but i do love that daemon's abscence is felt in the way that rhaenyra feels less grounded. like she doesn't lose herself when he's gone but they're so clearly used to orbiting around each other and balancing each other that it DOES take these magic intimate words in the language that they share to remind her what this is all for and how they got here.

it's interesting because more than shadows, to me daemon was rhaenyra's shining example of how to wield power in the more masculine way she craved - she looked to him certainly more than she did viserys. and it's not necessarily molding herself in his image (although he definitely presented a way of life inaccessible to her by gender and position) because i think rhaenyra has always had a strong sense of self... daemon loved modeling that for her! but now she's his queen, and being her sword arm and her protector is his ordained duty, as he sees it. clearing the way and placing her in front is her right as his sovereign.... and she's still looking to him to model behavior..... it's yum yum yummy like WEEEEEE

there's still a disconnect between millynyra and emmanyra that i find fascinating but the veil is thinnest when they get scenes like this imo
