Words
The words we use bring us together or keep us apart
Create or destroy
Bring darkness or light
Sharp as swords
Hard as bones
In memory forever stored
Words seduce or repulse
Yet from the same tongue spring forth
Let me be a silver and not a viper tongue
Too many words or too few
Can clear things up or confuse
Powerful words
Spoken or written matters not
Corrosive acid or honey sweet
We choose what we spew
e.v.e.
Prompt by @abstractcommunity The words we use
#1
I stand alone, a lifeless island
Unloved and unloving
My charity starts at home
And stays there, I look out for number one
I take care of myself
I think only of myself
My only concern here is of my place in the sun
Should you be hurt or damaged
When I guard what’s mine
It matters not the tiniest to me
For you are unimportant
worthless and unseen
Invisible in my philosophy
The only thing that matters
Is everything I own
And nothing in the world would make me share
I’m soulless and I’m heartless
Incapable of love
But I’m a lifeless island
I don't know enough to care
A fragment of fire
The trees like torches,
Were ablazed with fire,
The red was slowly spreading,
Roasted flesh,
Could be smelled,
And so could the burnt feelings,
The flames
had covered my body
But still
The blazing heat,
Couldn't be felt,
That was when,
I realized the fact,
I was a fragment of fire itself

3:56 am
I am the stealth of the city
I claim the tallest point and
Vanish from the inside out
Ten thousand lights blanket me
From the sound and pain below
Blinking their stories, speaking
In a language only time can teach
The silence is alive, far beyond the
Pale voicelessness of the daytime
Look down and you’ll see
Your life in your line of sight
A dark purple sky threaded with
Empty promises and white stars
Galaxies dance above nocturnal
Oblivion, reigning in blackened light
“All dawns are inevitable twilight, and these thoughts of you are my poetry rewrites.”
