I have a lot of headcanons about the kind of ftiendship they had in childhood and I oh my gooosshhhh there is so many good conversations to be had about this.... Because we know that they used to be students and doing their thesis together, it's referenced in the game but Latte is in Parfadia meanwhile Espresso is in the republic but apparently they used to teach in the same school (you can see in that story with Latte, Espresso and Almond where you're a student or something and they teach you but nobody gave a shit about that story because it's boring as hell and not voiced) but Espresso also used to teach in the republic I guess because in the dream update he had students there?? What the fuck happened WHO CHANGED LOCATIONS AND WHEN. Like if anybody has any idea what happened there please do tell because hello???
