Aalborg Pride 2025
Yesterday was Pride here and I think it was probably the best Pride I've ever participated in. And also the most exhausting, but in a good way.
I met so many wonderful people, had some really good and deep conversations, and I hope I made 52 people happy by handing out my crocheted Pride Kitties (see picture).
Pride is so important, you guys. It's where the queer community can get together, where we can meet in (relative) safety, and where we can share stories.
I met several people who were there for the first time. One guy, who had a long conversation with, has been out for a while but this was his first time attending Pride. He told me how he was willing to put himself out in front when there's trouble, because he's a big guy and it's the least he can do.
I met a guy from Brazil, a couple of French tourists who had just followed the music and ended up in the middle of our Pride party and were having a lovely time!
And I hope that I go through to the person who believe(d?) that trans people couldn't be wholly men or women. Or at least made them think about it.
Even though it was a long day helping a friend man our Drag Me Up booth, I had a great time, and I'll remember this particular Pride for a long time coming.
Oh, and there's my outfit for Pride. Rainbow kilt with a white t-shirt and waistcoat.
And a pose with a sledgehammer that made me feel So Fucking Masc.
