Culinary Training Program:

Available to: Baltimore city residents who are unemployed or underemployed, 18 and over, Maryland state ID, drug testing clean for 90 days, high school degree or GED

An intense, 12-week course designed to provide the motivated individual with the tools necessary to gain and retain employment in a growing industry.

Each student will be required to pass an industry accredited food safety exam and become a certified safe food handler in order to advance.

Fundamental cooking methods and techniques (deep fry, saute, grilling, roasting, poaching, etc.) along with essential kitchen terminology, sound knife skills, baking/pastry introduction, and menu planning serve to round out the culinary training program.

Basic life skills training is included as well, including: how to prepare for and succeed in an interview, appropriate behavior with co-workers, and teamwork and the benefits of being a team player.

Nourishment:

Available to: Clients referred by their primary care provider, including Ryan White clients

Weekly meal delivery of up to 18 meals/week for homebound men and women struggling with a severe illness.

Meal delivery to homeless men and women in Baltimore through partnerships with emergency shelters and city drop-in centers.

Registered Dietitians work with clients to create individualized nutrition plans that will improve their eating habits and health long term.

Transportation:

Available to: Ryan White clients; must be referred by a primary care provider

Free door-to-door transportation to medical appointments for low-income Baltimore City clients living with HIV/AIDS. We have wheelchair accessible vans.
