My 2020 Vision Board
We are already in the 4th month of 2020 and I just created my vision board for this year. Am I too late?
Oh well, I guess we will never be too late to set goals and visualize our future. We never will, unless, we are already dead.
And probably, if I have created my vision board in January, most of the things I have put in there may have been cancelled because of the COVID pandemic. But I do not want to just whine over my cancelled plans and entertain myself instead by making my own vision board.
Creating this is so much fun! I like planning and organizing things (although it gives me headache too!). Seeing my thoughts in a pretty Canva project is so satisfying and motivating. I guess online influences that encourage us to visualize and manifest our desires to the universe are telling the truth about what it feels to create a vision board.
So let’s first talk about what a Vision Board is.
I actually have a Youtube video with Tammie Sunday where we created our 2019 last quarter vision boards. Check it out here if you want to learn more about how to do it step by step.
2020 Goals
Now, let’s discuss about my 2020 Vision Board. There are only 9 pictures on my vision board this year which is very different from what I did last year.
Here’s a quick rundown of what these nine pictures are about. (From Top to Bottom, Left to Right)
1. Passbook
This year I want to save enough money for my Emergency fund, wedding fund with Zen and travel/fun savings so my family and I can take a quick travel getaway to a nearby beach. I also want to buy a health insurance this year.
2. Bianca Gonzales Talking in a Conference
Bianca is one of my life peg. I think she is beautiful, smart and a good host. This is one of the reason why I included her in my board. Why is this picture here? It is because one of my goal this year is to join Toastmasters and improve my English communication skills. Last year, I have been invited to give talks to several companies and schools. Although I did okay, I think I can do better.
3. Pretty Interiors of a Restaurant
According to Google, this is the interior of one branch of Vikings in Manila. It has been my goal to treat my family into an all you can eat restaurant. Hopefully, I will be able to do this on my birthday. Mama has been expressing her desire to eat in Vikings.
4. Woman dressed in Black Blouse and Cream-colored Shorts
Okay, here’s the thing: I gained weight. A huge amount of weight. haha! And sadly, my pretty clothes do not fit me anymore. I get embarrassed that I have to re-use old clothes whenever I am invited to give a talk. Most of the clothes that still fits me are not appropriate for semi-formal events. This is why my goal this year is to purchase pretty clothes, shoes, bags and accessories needed for my wardrobe. I would like my style to evolve to feminine and modest which is different from my black and white, 'emo’ ensemble from three years ago.
5. A Lady Working/Teaching Using a Computer
I have always planned to get a part-time job since last year. However, I have this fear that I might get burned out and overworked. This year, I am determined to try doing two jobs for additional income (which I terribly needed to help my family’s finances and for me to reach my goals faster). I am eyeing online tutoring jobs and have actually applied to some already but let’s see where life would take me.
6. Arabella Racelis Looking so Beautiful
I have been Bella’s subscriber since 2017. I think she is very pretty with her glowing morena skin. This year I aim to be equally beautiful (oh I hope so! hahaha). I want to learn the best skin care routine, best products to help me be fit and healthy. I have struggled with Seborrheic Dermatitis for years which makes it a little difficult for me to try different products. I would like to stick with gentle but effective products. If you know any good products for combination skin and seborrhea, please send me a message. I would appreciate it.
7. Weighing Scale
As I have mentioned in #4, I gained a significant amount of weight in the course of 5 years. This year, I am hoping to reduce to my ideal weight (which was also prescribed in the results of my annual physical exam to avoid further illnesses like diabetes). I lost 2 kgs already since the start of the enhanced community quarantine but I am aiming for a 55-59 kilogram weight. *crossed fingers*
8. Treasure Mountain
Zen and I have planned to visit Treasure Mountain for some nature-filled date. Until ECQ and COVID pandemic happened. So, we have to cancel our plans. Hopefully, when things get better, we will be able to tick this place off our list.
9. Stilts Calatagan
Like #8, my family and I along with the Almasin family have planned to go to Batangas for a quick getaway since it is Summer and Kuya Dave was supposed to go home last March. Like any other plans, this has to go to the backseat until a cure and/or a vaccine to the virus has been discovered.
So there it is, my 2020 Vision Board. Although I am not sure if all of this will be accomplished because of the virus, I do not want to prevent myself from dreaming.
We know that this year has not been like we have expected it to be. But, let us not lose hope. Instead, let us motivate ourselves that there are still so much that we can do to make this year a ‘happy’ and memorable one.
Sending you love,
Cha
