#12weeks

The babies are now the size of plums!

Overdue size update. 6yrs/30lbs, 2yrs/25lbs, 12 weeks/27lbs

These are my 12 week results! I lost 12.2kg and 20.5 cm from around my waist and i’m still shrinking!! Follow my IG for more :) @christinamwade 

Before: 96.8kg / 217lb

After 12 weeks: 84.6 / 186lb

Goal: 60kg / 132lb

Things: 

- she can reach mindfully and carefully for toys 

- can shift/roll onto her side then back down

- can grasp her rattle and explore it by putting it in her mouth 

- talks and coos endlessly! So cute! Makes a variety of noises now, my favourite one is her ‘pay attention to me’ shriek. 

- she is still fascinated by the ceiling and will gaze upwards every chance she gets (it freaked my husband out at first “can she like.. see something we can’t?” *x-files music*) 

- goes down easier at night now! Bath, massage, say goodnight and our evening prayers (Thank you God for another wonderful day, please please please please let our Chloe sleep well tonight), hold and bounce her about a bit as I walk to soothe her, then nurse her to sleep. 

- she loves her bath time. Like I could tell she enjoyed it before, but she is smiling and cooing now, then she screams when she wants to be let out haha. It might be a few minutes in, it might be after 10-15 mins, she lets me know when she’s done. Which I’m so grateful for, honestly. I mean yeah she’s a fussy baby in general, but as a result, we know what she doesn’t like. 

- loves looking at herself in the mirror. The first time she saw herself, I was holding her up against the mirror in the bathroom. She looked at mirror-me, then mirror-self, then burst into tears! I told my husband later, and his interpretation was so hilarious: she knows what her mum looks like but she doesn’t know what she looks like. She probably thought her mum was holding some other random baby and freaked out. 

- (tmi) she poops like once a week. Twice at most. And when she does, let’s just say that I have a ton of laundry to do that night. Thank you BabyCenter for reassuring me that this is normal! 

I’ve tried doing a whole bunch of things recommended by the Wonder Weeks book, and I feel that every baby is truly individual! I feel that Chloe’s “ahead” in certain things, but “behind” in some because she’s physically/mentally just not ready for it or she just has no interest in a certain activity/game or movement.
