"lock in" is probably one of the most important phrases to enter the public lexicon in the 2020s
I know this is meant to be funny but it actually makes such a good point about how ADHD and executive dysfunction can impact people in really major ways, including financially
Get over yourself. There’s an ongoing genocide in West Asia that has directly impacted the climate far more than some loser generating porn with LLMs

i dont think whites understand how being white makes literally everything easier.
it effects everything.
being trans is easier when youre white.
being gay is easier when youre white.
being disabled is easier when youre white.
being a woman is easier when youre white.
being autistic is easier when youre white.
oppression is eased when you are white, as you get extra privileges, and your whiteness is seen as a positive characteristic that in some ways counter-balances your other forms of being a minority. whiteness controls everything.
you are automatically way more innocent in your own oppression as a gay, trans, disabled person because of your whiteness.
never forget this.
three things:
1. it’s true
2. white people get pissed when i bring this up/wear this shirt
3. the comments to this thread melted my fucking eyeballs seriously why the fuck are y’all like this
white people you don’t need to say you’re white when you reblog this btw. you don’t even need to mention it btw
boring take from real 21st century idiots: bdsm is bad because it's basically torture
interesting take from a fictional 14th century monk: torture is bad because it's basically sex
Shoutout to the nun who had other nuns tie her up and pour hot wax on her as she confessed her sins
I'm sure that's true, but something tells me googling "nun tied up by other nuns" "hot wax" "confessing sins" will likely get what you might call rather un-academic results
This isn't going to become some anomalous method of arresting people. They will be shocking people like this as a matter of course.
Luckily thick clothing will insulate you from the shock.
They will 100% use this to torture people they're trying to arrest, and then when people struggle in response to the pain they will use that automatic human response as an excuse to execute them in the streets. absolutely insane to even consider giving this to any cop, let alone ICE!
while I'm at it we really do need to be nicer to fat trans girls
Especially fat black trans girls.
customer told me today that he no longer remembers his dead mother's face and that he wishes he still had dreams so he could see her again he also told me that he is currently raising two baby pigs he found at the bottom of a waterfall

as a former escape room host i highly recommend doing an escape room as a first date. its a great way to learn how ppl react under pressure and how well they collaborate with you right off the bat. also more than once ive seen people enter an escape room as a couple and exit broken up LOL its a fantastic litmus test
sorry to broadcast ur tags but this is also a valuable part of the litmus test! it seems like you learned a lot about how this person makes you feel in their social group. they didn't go out of their way to include you, and neither did their friends. therefore you can come to a pretty good conclusion about how you might feel being part of their life outside of an escape room; someone who doesnt include you or your feelings in a game is likely going to do the same in other situations
An experiment with a clear negative outcome is still a successful experiment.
thats science for ya

Ok, so I was reading this news story:
So far so normal, right? But then:
Like what. And then:
Like, I think Alaska State Trooper Ken Marsh wants to be a romance novelist.
well would you look at that
One of the best posts
It's quite the shame that we haven't made any stellar improvements on nose picking technology in all this time. Kind of embarrassing really
I have to post stupid things on my insta story every now and then or I die

both 30 years old, born on the same day at precisely the same millisecond, but she was born in the state of Arizona which does not observe daylight savings time so one could possibly make the (weak) argument that she's an hour older. problematic age gap?
alright alright how about this other chick. she was born orbiting a black hole and due to relativistic effects currently unexplained by established models we are both 14 million years younger than eachother. help me with the ethics of this
definitionally yes
in case folk outside the UK aren't abreast of our news, the British press just hounded a black academic to death
a rough timeline of events (from memory, there may be inaccuracies, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)
Cambridge professor of sociology Jason Arday is accused of plagiarism by another academic
the accuser is a "race realist" who believes that in a true meritocracy all university professors would be white. this is somehow not acknowledged much during the entire ordeal
this leads to several days of media coverage demanding an investigation, or that Arday is expelled from his post immediately
somehow this accusation that has no effect on the lives of 99.99% of the population becomes FRONT PAGE NEWS in all the newspapers for multiple days, above anything else happening in the UK or the world at large
following intense media scrutiny, Arday resigns his post as a Cambridge professor
today, august 14th, days after resigning, Arday is found dead at his home in Battersea
the British tabloid press remains, and will always be, fucking evil
hey! to anyone reblogging this to argue that Arday plagiarized or lied about things like how many races he ran, quick question: even if that were true, in what world does that justify the brutal hounding of a man by the British press, all spurred by the claims of an open racist?
a few things:
the guy who started all this shit is Nathan Cofnas. he was fired from Cambridge's Emmanuel College for making a blog post that said there shouldn't be black professors. his intentions were in no way related to a care for academic accuracy and honesty. he was angry a black man was working at the school that had fired him.
Cofnas started all this by running Arday's work through a plagiarism machine unprompted. not only are those things infamously inaccurate, but Arady was ultimately cleared and- hey, why was Cofnas driven to do that in the first place?
the British press does not give a fuck about academia 99% of the time. they fucking don't. none of this was about education. they saw an opportunity to attack a black man--notably, one in a position of respect and authority--and took it.
even if he had lied about EVERYTHING he's achieved, if Arday had been white, no one in the press would have given a fuck. he would've, in all likelihood, been fired at most.
to people claiming his claims of racism were false, i just... don't believe that one sorry. this is the UK, we're talking about.
