I'm really tired of larpers and content creators pretending something is comic accurate rather than just saying it's good [Spider-Noir spoilers]

This is gonna be a stupid rant, but it's been bugging me, and I'm tired of all the misinformation online.

Spider-Noir is not comic-accurate at all. It's probably the least accurate adaptation of a Spider-Man comic ever. It shares almost nothing in common with its source material aside from the setting and the costume. But that's OKAY. Things don't need to be comic accurate to be good.

Clearly, the writers of this show had their own story they wanted to tell, and that story was really, REALLY good. But what annoys the fuck outta me is all these people on social media trying to explain why "this is super comic-accurate." It's not. Nicolas Cage is more than 40 years older than Peter Parker is in the comic. He goes by Ben Reilly rather than Peter Parker, he gets his powers completely differently, he has a totally different motivation, he doesn't even face off against the same villains or deal with the same conflicts, it's completely missing its political themes, the majority of supporting characters don't appear, and the few that do have nothing in common with their comic counterparts.

This show is not comic-accurate. But something doesn't need to be comic-accurate to be good. Just fucking say you liked the show rather than pretending like you're some comic book expert and making yourself look like an ass to anyone who actually did read the comic. And also, read the comic while you're at it! They have very little in common, but it's also a great story, and I'd argue it's even better than the show.

#YES EXACTLY I ALREADY BRACED MYSELF FOR IT BEING INACCURATE EVER SINCE THE TRAILERS #him being named ben reilly did that for me the most #but even then minutes into episode 1 i was like ohhhh its NOTHING like the comics huh.#especially cuz cage looks nothing like noir peter but i guess they literally name him different to show he isnt him #it for sure made me cringe for my noir fan mutuals at times because #1. omg this is not even close to their blorbo #and 2. uh oh the public might think this is how noir is now. atsv miguel level damage to the characters future </3 #but if u can let that and any expectations exit ur mind its a pretty enjoyable show !!#probs hard to watch for noir fans who have to see their blorbos image be twisted in real time tho. so i completely get why ppl dont like it #same as miguel atsv.. that has gotta be one of the worst fates for a fan of a character..

He was just looking for his old friend superior <- genuinely my sicknand twisted headcanon for real💥💥💥💥💥💥

ALSO I genuinely have so many thoughts about superior being in the spiderverse movies.. I think he would be SO INTERESTING TO MILES' STORY cuz his whole thing was also going against 'fate', cutting up the web of life and destiny even.. but also he SUCKS and Miguel could have EASILY been replaced with soups if u tweaked him a little.. ughhh I think about this so much.. I could make a youtube video about it

But ultimately I think one singular movie couldnt fully utilise his character well so since he didnt appear in atsv I don't think I'd want him to be in btsv 💔 that being said... we can be crazy by ourselves FOREVER 😈😈😈😈😈

#WAAHGH I ACTUALLY HAVE SO MANY IDEAS AND THOUGHTS ON SUPERIOR IN THE MOVIES AND ALSO #I EVEN HAVE AN AU VERSION OF SOUPS IN MY HEAD WITH REFRAMED MOTOVATIONS N PERSPECTIVE AND KNOWLEDGE #THAT I THINK WOULD HAVE WORKED GREAT IF THEY WANTED HIM AS THE VILLAIN OF ATSV.. i should post about him someday..#but i dont think about him much cuz i love love love my yucky abnormal regular 616 volume 2 superior 🩵 and he simply wouldnt fit in atsv #TO ME #not in a way thats neat and does his character nuances justice #an alternate version of him could have had a great arc alongside miles.. but 616 soups as he is would not be great in the story methinks #aalso i posted before atsv about how i thought superior could have been in the post credits with 1048 heheheh.e.. ill find that post

I've been addicted to the goddamn spider-noir Cat Hardy's performance of dream a little dream of me.. I actually understand Peter Parker now. I see why black cat can play him so easily cuz good loorrrrd I would let her scam me. Li Jun Li you are my favourite part of this show by far.
