So they first meet in helena thorp's house and he gives her his knife for protection. I really love that scene cuz he tells her that she's memorable and everyone in that house should be terrified of her😭

after eve says yes to the cult's invitation and shoots slate, he goes to gigi for help. at that point savannah had gone to London with rohan and brady and left gigi behind with knox so gigi wasn't doing well and was so surprised when slate came to her for help. then knox stitches slate up while slate tells gigi all about eve. Toby joins them later and they all go back to hawthorne house together.

there's not much gigimattias content there until everyone thinks savannah has said yes to the cult's invitation and gigi's not okay at all and there's this scene where she's sitting on the stairs and slate sits next to her and tells her that she has 3 options : "the shower to cry, the shooting range for a lesson in aim and control, or the roof to scream.” then knox joins slate in trying to make gigi feel better and slate tells both gigi and knox that he's been watching gigi for a long time since the times that she used to sell everything she had to give the money to others. ( that's my second fav chapter after chapter 99😭 )

When everyone realizes that the crucible is happening at vantage, slate leaves with oren and leaves a note for gigi on the roof and they don't see each other again until the end of the book. After the explosion happens and slate is nowhere to be found, gigi knows that he might be dead but still sits on her roof and talks to him every night for two weeks, hoping that he's out there and right when she's starting to get disappointed, he comes back and tells her that he couldn’t even look at himself in the mirror after eve's death. ( in that scene she actually jumps from her roof and he catches her and they both fall to the ground and just stare at each other until rohan interrupts them😭 )

then there's her last chapter where they're holding hands at eve's funeral and just sit there together after everyone leaves which is their last scene and I'm gonna put the whole convo for you😭
