catherine went from screaming like a conspiracy theorist and happily losing over and over again to fighting her way to the top in this episode and i think i fell in love with her for it

Game Changer Season 8 Episode 5

You get to the first layer of hell. limbo. you walk onto the game changer set. Sam Reich is there…. it’s time to count the rice.

Count the Rice is already close enough I think Dropout should just commit and make a horror Game Changer episode. Sam’s voice welcomes you to game changer and you walk out and suddenly the whole building is dark and empty except for you, a couple cast members in scary as shit costumes, and Sam’s friend Tao Yang who is standing about ten seconds away…

so far "count the rice" is like "what if a game show was actually an escape room, but what if the escape room was actually the inferno and you have to climb your way out of several layers of hell"

Ify is in an episode of Game Changer. Zach and Jiavani are in The Good Place. Anna is in the timeloop. Demi is in a Charlie Chaplin film but that film is also a Mario 64 speedrun. Hannah Pilkes is having the day she always has but in the backrooms, and Catherine McCafferty is of course in As Above So Below.

catherine might be the first game changer player who understood the assignment, immediately failed the assignment, figured out the assignment better, told everyone else the assignment, and then failed multiple times cause she truly cannot describe pictures (or name songs). player of all time. i love seeing someone who clearly gets and loves game changer and is just plain bad at games. representation for all of us.

everyone say thank you catherine for being the reason anyone figured anything out in the first place. all of them may have been playing game changer, but she was the one changing the game.

immediate top 5 game changer episode btw there’s just so much to love. the slow reveal of the rooms. ify being the first to lose in room 1. catherine mccafferty being the episode’s main character and breakout star. the set design for all of the rooms but ESPECIALLY the spot the difference ones. 25 grants. the friendship(?) between hannah and the bouncer for room 2. demi accidentally plotting his own downfall by saying pop goes the weasel at the same time as hannah. sam trying to fill time while waiting for a player to win their way back up. the pic pong got him. a true fucking delight all the way down and back up again
